I have no idea what I am doing wrong on my Tantrum and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips or tell me what I'm doing wrong. I also ride at 65 feet, should I learn this trick at 55 first?

Here's the link; http://www2.gvsu.edu/~vereshmj/help.html Just click on I can't figure this out or click save as...then watch it.

Thanks for the help I appreciate it!

It looks like mid air you are reaching with your back hand for the rope again and that is bringing you around to fakie. also i suggest taking a longer cut at it and with a tantrum you dont need a true progressive edge because at the end you are letting off your edge to transfer rails. Since you are changing rails last minute you should start wider and get on the gas a lot faster, this will help you reach the other wake. everythig looked good except where you reach for the handle with your back hand and go to fakie so i suggest just concentrate on kepping one hand on the handle only untill you have come all the way around and landed. think about going straigh back aswell and that will help fight the temptaion to go to fakie. good luck

I thought you were going to stick the tantrum untill for some reason you wanted to go back to two hands on the tantrum, just relax and hold on with that one hand and you will most likely stick it. Just remember what you are doing now for when you learn tantrum to fakie! Ha.

That backroll you just overrotated, keep the handle in closer for faster rotations, let it out for your rotation to slow down. Same for tantrum, except tantrum is harder to adjust because it's one handed.

Other than that wake turner has everything I would of said.

I don't know how to relax :-p. I'll try keeping my arm closer to my hip...I think I'm freaking out and pulling halfway through my rotation - I should just learn a whirlybird Wink haha jk.

your going the wrong direction for a whirly, just dont try to grab the handle with your back hand and you should get it. Wait a little longer for the pop too.

Okay, here's the deal, you're not letting yourself go upside down. Just when you're about to finish the flip, your natural reaction is to look at the water by turning your head over your shoulder. That ruins your flip completely. Watch the video of yourself closely, you'll notice that you never take your eyes off of the water after your flip is started. To do a tantrum, your eyes have to leave the water for a bit.

Here's how you fix it:

1) Practice on a trampoline if you can. Realize that your body is going to go completely upside down and you need to be comfortable with that. Picture what your head will do and what you will see. First you'll see the sky when you look up, then you'll see ground around you upside down (you're still in the air though, so just relax and let your body follow your head), then the trampoline (or wake) then the world right side up again. Know that your vision will need to be in a nice big circle to do the flip and don't fight it.

2) RELAX. Your problem is all mental. Just keep your head looking up, never turn it to your left or right during the flip.

3) Soft knees to land.

Now go do it and report!

I had a chance for a quick ride this morning and I see what you guys are saying. I have modified my cut and im clearing the wake and getting great pop. I know that my problem is my head. Does anyone have any suggestions besides flipping on a trampoline? Maybe I just need to keep falling until I get it; its just frustrating because I'm so close. I'm getting the whole rotation but I'm getting some spin, not as much as I was. I'll just keep trying. I'll keep you guys posted this weekend. Thanks for the advice.

I think (just like the others) that you should not try to grab the handle with your back hand. If you could that I think you could come very close on landing it.

Just concentrate on taking the trick up and not just throwing back your head.
And push of the wake as late as possible.

let us know how it works out. !!!
