I get a sore back after a few minutes of wakeboarding (even w/o falling). Any idea what I am doing that would make my back hurt? Confused

I would guess bindings or binding placement.

Are your bindings soft and comfortable? If so, check your stance. Is it centered and are your feet slightly ducked out? Is your stance neutral so that riding when riding switch you’re feet are in a similar position but reversed? Don’t setup your bindings too wide.

In any case, you may want to change the positions and try again.

It has been my experience watching newer riders (friends, and more than likely myself when I first started) that people have a tendancy to lean over to much. Almost as though you arent comfortable which is normal when trying anything new, but you need to think of your posture first, more so when you are just starting. Your techniques that you develop early will by far get you advanced quicker and over time with practice (with your good form) will make you a better rider than most out there that have done it the same amount of time as yourself. Keep in mind, some people are badass sloppy riders, what can we say? But chances are you, like myself, are not one of them and we have to keep in mind that we need form to advance. Most importantly though, is enjoy it while you are out there. You could be doing something alot worse... If it means drinking a few beers to unwind before your run, go for it. (Please don't get trashed though)... I hope your back starts to feel better as your form improves though. Although, when you start going face first into the wake your sore back will be a distant memory and your new problems will be posted up on here asking, "How do I get the water out of my eyelids?"!!!! Very Happy
