OK, so my friend has a Tige 22v and we build a box for a 12" sub and put it in the bow storage area under the seat in front of the driver side. Sounds great with the storage area open (the bow seat lifts up) but with it closed, the sound is ok. We've heard of people actually cutting a hole for the sub right under the steering wheel. Then they build a box to enclose the sub from behind. So the box will still be in the same storage area but now the sub will be firing out into the cabin area instead of stuffed up in front of the boat.
Anyone see a setup like that before? How does it sound? Just want to make sure before we cut a hole in the boat for the sub. _________________ Las Vegas, NV |

I put a freair 15" in the footwell for the driver. Then I powered it with a 1000w at 2ohm. REALLY hits good. _________________ GITAIR |

Cool. Thats good to know. Thanks. Anyone else do it that way? It seems to make a really big difference where the sub is placed. _________________ Las Vegas, NV |

neskyjunk, Tige has a template molded into the footwell, just for that purpose.
I have mine set up exactly like you said, 12" in the wall, with a box behind it, hits and sounds really good.
Good luck |

| I placed a 10 inch sub in an enclosure in the front storage compartment of my Malibu Ride (right in with the batteries). That compartment does have some small vents -- the sound is fine --and it's the dryest spot on the boat. |

I put my 12" Alpine Type R Sub under the foot rest in my VLX. It has a box mounted to the back of the new foot rest.
It thumps. You cant go wrong mounting your sub here. |

Post some pics. Im always interested in how others did their install. Im going to put 2 sets of Aplpine splits up on the tower in chrome pods later this year.
Check out this VLX at the Melbourne Boat Show. It had 4 12" Type R Subs, 8 Alpine V12 amps, 3 tv screens, phone & heaps more. |

That stereo is ridiculous?! Who could see that TV? Oh well I guess at least they could say "Um...I have a TV in my boat..." Anyways, I would say a fee-air speaker, yeah no problem, that's what they are meant to do, but you can always get a better sound out of a properly sized box, and I know you can't get the right size behind that footboard. I would say leave it in the bin for logevity and sound reasons... (or get a metal grille for it and a strong amp) _________________ blah blah blah... |

| You can fit a properly sized box behind the foot rest. My box was made by a car hifi installer and I did the rest. Its a 12" Sub. It pumps |

| I put 2 12"subs in a 3 chamber box on one side of the motor comp. It BARLEY fits. But it hits REAL hard. And the girls seem to always like to sit on the rear sundeck.... wonder why. |

that boat is very nice, but imo, i try not to put anything in my boat that can't get wet. i know it sounds stupid, but when i get out of the water, and i sit down, i don't want to have to worry about shorting out a tv. that doesn't mean i wouldn't take that boat if somebody were to give it to me
