|
|
About 3 weeks ago I sprained my medial collateral ligament trying to pull a tantrum. I have been letting it heal, and I think I am getting close to trying it again, so I figured I would try to get some advice to run over in my head...
On my tantrum attempts, i am consistently rotating correctly, but I have two problems that I can see
1. I don't get quite enough pop. On regular heelside attempts, I can go big enough to land 8 feet in the flats pretty consistently, but on my tantrum attempts I feel a lot lower. Does anyone have any good tips for getting more pop for this trick? My head is rotating about 2 feet from the water.
2. My board is going "switch" almost like a tantrum to revert or something right in the middle of the trick. I feel the rotation fine, but I start left foot foreward, and usually end with my right foot facing towards the boat, and almost on my back. How can I stop this switching motion? I figured maybe it was how I kept my rope or maybe even my shoulders, but I don't know enough. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help. |

to solve your pop issue, hold your edge a little longer before "tripping" the board, then dont try and huck the flip but be sure to stand tall at the wake and get your pop, then look up and start your rotation.
As for the switch thing i dont know how your rotating but watch some online vids and try to compare yourself to them to see whats makin you do that. |

| If you're getting twisted up, try squaring up better to the wake. As you switch your edge, look at the shorline so your shoulders are more lined up with the wake. |
