Yea that's sick - just tie the rope to the tower and work on your stuff before you go ride.

I had to bring this thread back. been working on our dock this spring, and it's just about done. Thought I'd share a few pics. When these were taken, we were waiting for some parts for the lift. We are going to build out the V for the bow in the slip also.

markymarc, That was after a long day of building that dock. Don't worry though, we hit that same butter the next day.

Here are a few pictures of ours. We got 2 slips (we dont own the red and white boat) a floating dock, a picnic table, a hammock, a bench, a counter and cabinets/drawers, lighting, a fan, a mini fridge, a hose and a storage room.

I dont have any direct pictures of it but here are a bunch with the dock in it.

We keep the Gekko on the lift.
My wife's paddle boat - haven't been able to get up while it's towing me!
The left side of the dock is for my brother's Moomba while he is visiting.

In Indiana, where we pull the dock out every year due to ice/cold, we lean toward simple docks that are relatively easy in/out.

All the best,

Tim

itch, I always have improvements in mind. Nothing is ever really done. There is always something that will make it better. Just the way I am. I wish we could get out and ride more. The lake is a little longer than 10 miles with a bunch of islands and coves so we can almost always find good water. Last labor day weekend we saw 5 other boats the entire weekend. Crowding is not a problem (Yet). But it seems like the is Ice on the lake longer than not. People look at us strange when we are in the water before memorial day.

How do all of you guys have real wakeboarding boats. My family could never afford to drop 50,000 on a boat

Gruelie, We all stole them. That or work 11 hour days 6 days a week.. and even though it looks good... you'd surprised how little we/I actually get to use them.

Gruelie -

To afford my adapted slalom/wb boat I:

Worked my butt off in high school, so I could work my butt off in pharmacy school for 5 years so I could work my butt off in another pharmacy school for 2 more years so I could get a job that allows me to afford a boat.

A DD inboard is one of the things I wanted, ever since I was a kid and saw and HEARD a Barefoot Nautique. Be willing to work for your dream.....and keep in mind that there are great deals out there on used boats and there banks/finance companies that are willing to work with you to afford a boat. Mine cost less than half of 50k.

Best regards,

Tim

Cool - we are building ours this weekend!

I see a lot of those have nice mooring hardware - we have some really big waves because we are on a river - I was hoping to just tie off with the floatie thingies.....

riverfreak, we use these when we don't put the boat on the lift http://overtons.com/modperl/overtons/detail/pdetail2.cgi?r=detail_view&item_num=37608
keeps the boat away from the dock nicely. IMO if your spending the money building a dock, it's worth it to spend a little extra and keep the boat safe.

Riverfreak, maybe you could build it to where you can moore your boat on the backside of the deck or the boathouse section (if it's going to be sideways). Then you could install some kind of wave breakers under that section that will keep the swells down.

Either way, those things MadDog linked to look like they would be your best protection from the boat hitting the dock.

Post some pics for us after you get going on it.

unfortunately i dodn't find a single picture of our dock except this one..the big flood we had last year. Laughing . good thing the water didn't come up anymore or we would've had to cut off our roof. you get the layout idea though.
