The bindings that you have are entry level bindings. I have ridden in them once when my bindings were in for repair so I am somewhat familiar with the morphs you have in your pictures.
Overall, you will be limited somewhat by this binding. I am not one to encourage people to go spend money needlessly but if you stopped in a pro shop and compared your morphs velcro to the straps and laces that are available in other boots you would see a substanial difference. The other main difference will be in the thickness of the footbed. You are having trouble keeping the velcro latched - unless you come up with some sort of modification I think the problem will continue to happen. Maybe you could try to put some laces around it somehow?
I get worried when new people don't have supportive bindings b/c when you are learning you take plenty of hard crashes. Bindings should fit snug and should only release your feet on serious wipe outs. If you get a chance upgrade your bindings so that you don't get hurt and end you season early. Plus, it gets frustrating having to redo your feet every pull!
In the next few weeks early '06 models will be released - then your local board shop may be more willing to make a deal on some "left over" bindings. Good luck!
With my first board I put the money into the bindings. When you're starting out comfort and safety are more important than high performance. When I get better I'll get a new board. Or maybe a new boat?
