Alright, so I know there are about 10 of these threads a day, but none of em really get a decent answer.
So I'm new to wakeskating and I'm looking to buy a skate. I've used my friends Cassette Linear Perspective 41". I really like the skate, but it is already chippin after only a few runs.
I'm new, but i don't completely suck, so I want a skate that I can progress on, but I don't wanna empty out my bank account. What skate do you guys reccomend, and where should i buy one?
Also, they're selling a Kampus swing and slide for 70 bucks on ebay, it this a good deal or do these skates suck? |

For the money a hyperlite scape. It was so cheap that I can do whatever I want with it and nor worry about messing it up. I've gotten my 90 bucks out of it. If you want one thats going to last and you'll be able to progress well on go with the integrity team its more money but still a hell of a lot cheaper than a wakeboard

CharJ2005, Those are just cracks in the paint. They are purely cosmetic and will not affect the ride. You don't need a new skate. And definitely don't buy a hyperlite... ugghhhh _________________ ...island style... |

If you want a good board that doesn't cost a ton, still rides really well, and has good control, then get a concave. Flat decks are nice for beginners, but concave will give you better board control.
I'm currently riding a LF concave wood deck (same as the older Cassette concaves) and I think it's the nicest deck I've ridden so far. I started out on a Hyperlite flat deck about 4-5 years ago and it was good for learning. I still haven't had a problem with that deck, and no matter what anyone tells you about Hype supposedly sucking, it's all bs. That deck is almost exactly the same as the Cassette flat deck that I have too. Neither of which I had any problems with. I also have a Hyperlite Catalyst from 2 last year, and I had better control on that board than the flats, but it was too light and floated off when I tried doing wake to wake tricks.
If you care about supporting rider owned than you know your choices, but if you just want a starter board, then I think you can pretty much get any board out there. If I had to do it all over again with the current line up of boards, I'd go with a wood concave deck. (Liquid Force, Cassette, or Gator) They're not that expensive and their great boards. I'd also like to try a LF Armada and an Integrity, but I'm not drop'n 3 bills on anything I haven't demo'd. |

Well if you conform to it with out understanding it, you are no better off than any other ignorant harold buying a hyperlite wakeboard with foam on it. But at least you are (blindly) supporting the right people lol and you have a sick wakeskate. (This is not directed at anyone... except hyperlite) _________________ ...island style... |
