I'm assuming you'll be trying a heelside 360? Anyways, take a medium cut towards the wake. You want enough speed to clear the wake but you want to focus more on getting popped up. You don't have to clear the wake by much. The harder you cut, the harder the trick is to control. Other than that, just keep the rope in tight. You want to wait until you get popped up and then pull the rope to your back hip. Use your free hand to reach behind your back and grab the rope. Once you've found it, you can let go with your other hand. Hope that helps. _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |

good advice from greg...try to keep a more upright body position when you cut. you still have to bend your knees but dont lean your shoulders away from the boat too much. this will keep you on axis during your spin and therefore more in control. if you cant get the pass try a wrap until your are comfortable with the rotation. good luck! _________________ it's not dirt or snow...so huck and throw! |

Yeah Backside 360s are harder than Frontside. I came really close to landing a few backside 360s last year and then blew my eardrum trying one..... so now I get a little nervous trying them. If for some reason you are more comfortable spinning that way though, go for it. Are you able to do backside 180s? If your looking for an easier way to land a 360, try doing a toeside 360, or try doing a frontside wrapped 360. Get creative. Try different things and find out which is most comfortable for you. When I was learning them, I found it easier to go behind a smaller boat with a smaller wake. Some people even learn them just going across one wake and landing in the middle of the wake. _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |

I can't speak much to the backside 3s, but i can say that a trampoline has helped me tremendously. Jump up straight (no spin off tramp/wake), wait for top of jump, then yank like hell the rope to your back hip, this spins you, advances you on the rope, making the pass easier. Then just pass it behind you, let go with back hand and it will spin you back around. _________________ Don't listen to advice from people who can't land that trick. My list:
HS+TS w2w jumps, HS+TS w2w 180, backroll
working on: I don't know, so happy I just landed backroll! |
