Yikes. I'm surprised that the gears inside your outdrive didn't crap out on you after an impact like that.

Oh man that does suck.... Did anything else get damaged? This happened to me once in my families boat. Hit some rocks, which broke the propellor and broke off some of the casing on the motor... Hope thats not the case for u! Good luck with fixing that bro.

Holy stuff!!!
You're lucky that it only cost you a prop running an I/O in that shallow of water. I hope its a somewhat clean 2-4 feet, it would suck to hitting something submerged with your head.

I did that in my old boat and it didn't end up just being the prop. It was also the gimball bearing and the ....uh....(thingy that connects the flywheel of your engine to the driveshaft of your outdrive thingy). It was a $1500 mess up. I can't remember the name of that stupid part!

Yikes, that sucks! Hopefully the prop is the only problem.
Everytime they mess with the water levels in our lake there is always driftwood everywhere. Last summer we messed up our prop at least twice, it sucked. But we have two props now, lol, so when one gets messed up its a quick fix.

Carter Lake is in Iowa, technically....but its werid cuz i live right on the border of Iowa, but i have to cross the Missouri river and go into Omaha, NE and back into Iowa Without crossing the river again to get to the lake...anyway, i have a I/O so its not worth it..the lake is just LOW...there talking about buying a water pump, to pump into the lake...This is also the lake where they have that "green/blue alage alert" so mostly it scares all the people away and i have my calm water The only damage done was to the prop!!

haha I find this funny...
"Police want people to avoid the south side of the lake because the gator has been seen in that area."
Imagine if police told that to people in Florida, no one would be in the water. Just shows how people adapt to ride freely with the gators
