I have a 2004 Supra SSSV Launch and have had an issue with the windshield screws (left side only) ripping out of the gel coat. It's primarily the first screw closest to the center window. Has anyone had this problem?
My warranty has covered a brand new windshield and my dealer has installed the 2005 version which is much more reinforced than the 2004, unfortunately that was done last thursday, today is Sunday, and I have the same problem within an inch of the original hole. (new holes were used to secure the new window)

Any chance you're putting a fat sac in the bow above the factory one, or have a non-Supra bag in the bow under-hull?

Sounds like your warranty police from Supra???? "Factory" "non-supra"
as long as its the same weight as "factory" there should be no problem.

tonality- no offense . I belong to a diesel truck forum and members w/ listed Mods in there sigs. and that made warranty claims were found out by "spys" from GM and denied warranty. I am not for lying and cheating but... Just a heads up to other members here

Factory 'spy' Laughing

That's a new one!

Putting a huge turbo or spray on a motor is one thing, adding extra weight above factory weight is another.

I think Tonality is getting at this example. Let's say you put a large fat sack in your bow, cross ways, in front of the windshield area. The weight pushes down, very slightly, the structure of the boat in that area, which in turn closes the gap, again slightly, between the fixed and swing area of the windshield.

I've seen this in various models from various manufacturers and it can impede the ability of your windshield to close properly and over time, cause mis alignment.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the original question, but I thought the 'spy' comment was just kinda funny.

Manufacturer guy browsing says " ah i remember this guy he's the one who put ???? lbs. over rated amount and now hes making a claim . DENIED!! Just a warning !!!

If it's held in with wood or metal screw, go to a thru-hole with a nice sized washer, lock washer, and nut. All stainless of course.

Cool thanks, I have a stock boat no added bags or any superchargers although I 'd like to hit 46 mph as opposed to 44 mph so maybe one day I will upgrade my boat.

The dealer I checked the screws they installed the windshield with and they are two different sizes, I am not sure if they are metal or wood screws needless to say they are "going to fix it" another few days down time at the dealer I might as well buy a new boat. I have asked them to do what jklein said. thanks

my ballast pump is bad too.....argh!

btcarro, who is your dealer??

AZMXER and I had trouble with our front sac not releasing water when we first got it. They took the pump out tested it and put it back in, now it works fine...except now it leaks water out slowly...it never ends!
