A-frame ridden!

Finally got the A-frame in the water this weekend. The assembly wen't perfect we had the kicker and the a-frame put together, floating and anchored in about an hour. I took first ride on the slider with no mishaps, I found it hard to stay on the down slope, maybe less speed next time. Two boards saw damage mine is the worst, check the pic, I've gotten it fixed allready so now I have a permanent slider board. I hope to get some better video posted up soon. The trex slides really nice. We had one rider that gapped the whole thing, again speed was a little fast, he just was able to tap the last part of the down slope. We are going to hit it again this weekend I hope to get some better footage.

nice...that beats the hell out of my slider...lol...looks fun..so how did you fix your board?

I read the plans on here and put something similar together. It was very easy to make and we didnt pay a cent for materials. The first ride was a great success.

I actually didnt fair too bad at all. I dont ride with fins so really just some pvc rub-off. Skate didnt do too bad either. The only drag if having to float it. My next one will be stationary for sure. It was my first and it was free.

yo man, what did u use for bouyancy, and did u just anchor it with cement? or ropes? im building one, well, planning to, and i was just curious. how did u find the 4 foot height? would it be super hard to ollie onto that??

6 55 gal. drums partially flooded. anchored with old brake rotors (2) on 100" of rope each. I built it 4.5 feet tall because I trailer it folded up and I thought that 9' was the legal width for trailers, turns out I was wrong it's 8.5' and I need a special use permit to tow it now. No worries though the permit is only 35 bucks for 12 months.

Or you can pick up some pvc for cheap or even free. Cap and seal them, more tan enough bouyancy. I anchored with 6, 5 gal buckets filled with concrete.

ohh thanks, but i mean what did u think of the height when riding it. cause i want to be able to ollie straight onto my slider as well as use the up slope. you know what i mean?? i figure i would probably go a bit smaller then 4.5 ft by about a foot, depending on how much it sinks in the water.

Dude, your board got massacred. Maybe you should think about riding a board with a smooth bottom. (no channels or molded fins)

Hit it again this weekend, again no injurys. Finally got a few full passes over it. I was having trouble staying on the down slope before. We broke it down and towed it back home. I'm not sure when we will get to use it again. There are some minor repairs that need to be done, it was in the water for 14 days.

No more board damage either, I found where I hit the trex that caused the damage. I didn't ollie once and the rear fin hit the end of the trex as I rode onto it 50/50. We repaired it with 3M auto body repair epoxys, and coated all of the other fins as well, and didn't have any further problems.
