Does anybody know what's going on with therse biminis? They look like platforms or something. I came across this on the other site and I was curious. I think I do like the new graphics, though.

That is NOT a 06 X-star, and if it was Ryan, would you be selling your boat thats on order to get one?!?!? The decal on the side of the boat is an after market one, you can get that on a mastercraft website. As far as the bimini goes, its only mad for the X-star at this point, but its sick, it is more of a rack than a bimini i think it can hold something like 3 or 4 boards on top of it, or in that case anything you want to put on it, just another way Mastercraft is thinking outside of the box.

I think it looks pretty good, but not very convenient to take on off/put or down like a regualr bimini. I did see that in the Wb mag with the two 50's on it, pretty sick. A few of my buddy's are moto heads and they were in awe.

i bet it has something to do with the fact that MC is sponsoring he AMA supercross series. at the San Fransco SX a couple months ago they had an X-star or two parked in the infield on the track.

i bet at the current races they throw some bikes up there when they park it.

They have had an X-Star set up at every race I believe, no the track and somewhere else where spectators can look inside it and get more info about it. Good move by MC.

It's billet. You don't take it down.

The way the styling on the X-star continues to progress, I expect them to put a Batman logo on the side any time now...

There is no billet on that bimini. It's pipe with an extruded piece on the side. That's the safari rack. Look closely, you can store boards on top of that thing.

They had one at the Pleasanton Boat show. I think the whole thing tilts rearward so you can get to it easier.

But I don't really see a way to have that and NOT have it up. Sometimes I like to feel the burn...

They have a pic of that boat with that bimini in the new wakeboarder - page 70.

They have a pair of 50's strung up on the bimini

I'm a strong believer in form follows function but sometimes little things that are added make something look better. (This is rather rare though, imo.)

I can see how that bimni would be handy but why the CRAP do the put those two sharp points on the front and back? That is only done to match "the style" (Apparently MC thinks style is to add as many sharp edges as possible) and serves no purpose other than to really mangle someone who stumbles into them.

I'm X-cited to see how much more ridiculous they can make their boats.

I wonder if they had to reinforce the tower to hold a bimini and two 50cc dirtbikes? I know that those bikes don't weigh much, but when you add that to the tower along with lights and boardracks that are full of boards, it could get to be pretty heavy. Just wondering if they took that into consideration because it looks like it is the same tower.

They should just seriously take the next step and install a stripper pole off the tower, pretty much sealing the deal

It's not THE new Bimini, it's the sports cargo rack witch I think is a good idea because this space hasn't been used since today.

Was out on Travis' boat and he has one. It was pretty handy for storing extra boards, but they do drip on you if you're sitting near a corner. Also, as low as it was I do think the sharp points are a bit of a liability for your taller crew members.

Overall, I liked it better than most tower biminis because it is very functional and sturdy. I has good cross bracing, so I doubt they did anything special to put the 50's up there. You really wouldn't want to drive it around like that though.

Yep, it's a difference of having a boat beeing on a trailer (with the 2 50's on the "bimini") or driving with the same boat with 35 mph over some rollers Rolling Eyes

AND: The "dripping-problem" we also have on the x-2 or the x-10, because the tower is less wide at the top then at the bottom. That's a reason to buy an X-80, there we dont have the "dripping-problem" and also the bimini is mounted higher so that taller people still can life with it Very Happy

Hey logan, Wow, i just had to say that was very insightful for you, feel free to share your wealth of knowlage here any time!! So i was just wondering if you had any FACTS to back up your claim that the X-star is "crap"? Why is it "crap"? Because i could understand how you could say that about a product that has been made by the leader in the boat making world for a long time now. You may not like the boat work whatever your reasons are, and thats fine but for you to say its "crap" IF your going to call it that then back it up with some facts.......oh thats right, you dont have any. I bet the only time you have ever seen any X-star was on this site, so unless you have tested, ridden or owned one, i really dont think you have any room to call it "crap", but hey oppions are like assholes, and yup you got one too.

logan, you're never going to keep a job at Larson's if you talk to customers like that. This of course isn't Larson's, but just a heads up.

Hockeyplayer, Laughing Laughing Laughing think about it dude. if there is a loaded boat, the racks may not be enough with only being able to hold 4 boards combined. use a little common sense. thats the board racks thng.

wakefunX-2, you really did ruin the thread by typeing that crap about the x-star. people have different opinions about boats. i like about all x-series boats except for the x-80 because it is a yacht more than any other wake boats(thats my opinion...shut up). i don't like malibus, but i do like tiges and nautiques. whoop dee doo i like tiges!!!!! and supras!!!!! boo hoo i don't like the 'bu!!!!!

get over it Rolling Eyes

ohio_wake_2008, hmm... Last time I checked you can fit a lot more than two board racks on a tower, Idea Its also not uncommon to fit 4 boards to a board rack.

Your probably right though... I generally keep about 20 boards on the boat just in case I break the other 19. Very Happy
