Here's the choice:
2004 X-Star- no tower speakers or lights, but everything else. 250+ hrs.
I LOVE the way it looks, all the bling, storage, but my main problem is the engine. It has the 350MCX and i think it might be underpowered with a full crew. 53K
2004 X-30- tower lights, tower speakers, xm radio, fully loaded like the X-star. 30 hrs. Doesn't have as much storage as the X-Star but still is very big inside. Same engine as the X-Star- 350 MCX but weighs 1000 pounds less and has much better performance. Performance-wise, no problem with a full crew. 48K
I've driven both boats, and liked them both. The x-star had about 5 people when we demoed and it did fine but not exceptional. I don't know how it will do when you fill it up with another five people.
Any opinions would help. Thanks. |

I think the wake is more "buildable" than that of the X30. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

If your serious about riding then the X-star. Come to think about it, even if your not serious about riding then the X-star. It is a better deal, and it will hold its value bettter. Remember that the 04 X-30 is no longer a current boat, and you can reprop the X-star to give you better holeshot if thats what you want. _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |

I'd go X-star. The MCX is a pretty sweet motor, I dont think you'll have much of a problem even if you pig it out. Plus the X-star has tracking fins where as the X-30 relies on a deep V in the hull for tracking. 250 hrs is nothing, if the engine had its routine maintence done it will run for thousands. _________________ www.midwestmastercraft.com

wrgodsend, X-Star.
More of a boarder's boat than the X-30. Resale will also be better in the long run IMO. _________________

| i test drove a 05 and 06 x30. Both drove almost exactly the same.. the 06 was just nicer interior and more storage + cooler and snapout carpet and stuff. Also you can pick up a brand new 05 for around 50k i bet. The dealer we were dealing with had a farely low asking price and he was willing to deal a lot more. However we ended up going with malibu instead. I didnt notice any difference from the new hull design between the 05 and 06. |
