I have lights and stereo on my boat. But thats for me and my comfort, not for everyone else to notice me.
My opinion of a wakeboard boat is anything that can pull you. But spending 10's of thousands of dollars on useless gimmicks is when you go past "wakeboard boat" and enter into "I need to feel better about myself"
Again this is my opinion.

How many guys are there on your lake that buy exspensive boats, and do nothing but drink heavily and cruise around. the places I ride at our overun with them. The less of "these" people we have buying "wakeboard" boats and causing problems on our waterways the better off we all are.

And whats wrong with pink panty's.... Twisted Evil

I see tower speakers and lights as a look at me item for a boat. It's all opinion then isn't it. They really don't serve any function and most get them for the "cool factor".

If someone wants to spend 10g's on a paintjob then go for it. It's not going to make it any less of a hardcore wakeboard boat. Do you remember Park's X-star from a couple of years ago. An all red Medal flake boat, you can't get any more gawdy than that, I'm not going to call Parks a poser. If you're outgoing,or flamboyant (sp) this kind of boat is just going to match your personality and style.

I don't care what you drive, if you drink on your boat and drive up and down the lake pissing people off I'm not going to like you. Just because someone has a nice boat that doesn't mean they're going to automatically do this.

I think we forget that these things are boats. The money that we drop on these toys is crazy, so what's another 10 grand? Just because it's wakeboard specific it still means it's overpriced and over the top.

I won't coment on the panties, (they aren't lacey as well are they?) Embarassed

flamboyant = "look at me" personality

You just agreed with anyone who said that boat would appeal to a "look at me" person. I'm not saying whether it's good or bad (though I'm not generally impressed by that sort of gaudy display). I'm just pointing out the fact that the correlation seems to be validated.

BTW, I agree with you on the tower speakers and lights. It seems to me that most people do get them just to look cool.

Also, I think you can observe a correlation between boats with gaudy color schemes, loud exhausts, tower speakers, etc. and annoying behavior. I think it's because a flamboyant "look at me" person wants to impose himself on others whereas a more humble and considerate person does not. I think that most people want to be left in peace on the lake so this attention-grabbing behavior is annoying to them.

Finally, I'll just say that you can usually tell the difference between a person who really appreciates expensive things like cars, boats, architecture, wine, food, art, etc., and a person who mostly wants to show off and impress people. People rarely have anything bad to say about the purchases of the former. It's the purchases of the latter that generally draw the negative attention, probably because people recognize a character flaw in those people. On a side note: people who regularly use the words "haters" and "jealous," probably fall under the latter category. Laughing

That boat is damn ugly, BUT it is perfect for South Florida, 14 year old kids and dudes that fix up Hondas for street racing.

Here are a few more pictures.

I'm a MasterCraft fan, but not a fan of this rig. Just to clear a few things up, the paint job was said to be 14k. It was done and had clear coat put over it. Not really something i want tied to the dock.

It is not a one of a kind boat or a boat show boat. There are a couple dealers that ordered one. They had all the work done somewhere up north.

Oh, I'd take any X-Star too, and if it was this one I'd sell it and buy another boat.

Ok, why sell it then. You can always repaint a boat. Why is everyone so pesimistic about somthing differant?

00wakesetter, you know how expensive it is to repaint a boat? You can't just paint it you have to regel it. For the most minimal gel job you're looking at over $4,000. Why repaint it when you could sell it and get one you like rather than completely strip the boat down and rebuild?

It's not that people don't like it because it's "different," these people don't like the overplayed barbed wire and flashy looks in general... I think it's cool for what it is, A "look at me" boat. But I wouldn't want to own it. I'm not a "look at me" type person. This is not pessimism. It is personal taste.

End of the day this is an awesome boat show boat and it does grab your attn
put this behind a jacked up f250 with a matching paint job and people are going to look big time.
every boat show I go to its the boats and even more so the boats and matching towvehicles with custom paint jobs that draw the biggest crowds and get the most attn
It does what it is supposed to do and very well.
The fact that this thread has reached 4 pages proves that too

you guys crack me up

Well first off: That was a promo boat and belongs to no one on the forum.

Second off: Try more like 100k, thirdly I believe the person who started this thread wanted comments on it.

Also Pat would probably appreciate it if you would get rid of your picture signature, I think he asked you before to get rid of it.

It looks like someone max'd out their PEP BOYS credit card on that thing. YUK. Sorry, but that thing is terrible. All you need are fuzzy dice hanging from the tower and spinners. Very OVERDONE. Sorry, but you came in saying how great it was........

Laugh So perfect! I could instantly imagine all the custom parts of the boat scattered down the aisle at Pep Boys. Of course, on the equivalent Pep Boys customized car or truck, the blue barbed-wire themed floor mats would only cost $30, the yellow gauges: $100, the custom dash pieces: $100, the barbed wire decals: $79.99, the blue anodized speaker grilles: $59.99, blue anodized billet wheels: $600, etc...

Thanks for the laugh!
