Took the SAN out over the weekend and everything digital went gunny bag. RPM's read 9,000, lost stereo control, speedo read different than PP and the hour meter read 84 hours.
Thought since this POS is a computer if I turn everything off and re-boot the machine it may sort itself out. After re-booting about 8 times I regained some normal functions--RPM's, Stereo, Speedo close but the Hours still registered 84 hours.
However when I turned it off and restarted again it wen't haywire again.
Now I know the hours are wrong-I mark the oil filter with hours and date changed. It had 116.2 hours.
I hate electronic crap, especially $5,000 crap that can leave me stranded.
Any ideas???? _________________ I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream |

lcap, sell it and buy a Sanger.
I just couldn't resist!!!
Anyhow, sounds like you may need to find out if there is a 'master reset' on the computer. Call the stealer and see if the service dept can point you in the right direction, otherwise, you will be taking it in for service.
Isn't it still under warranty??? _________________

lcap, sounds like possibly ECU problems, although it's odd that all the gauges failed at once, as far as I know the gauges don't have one "brain" or do they? Since you have an 04 and thus a GM power plant, Pacific Nautiques can read the actual engine run time off of the motor and put the correct number in the display. I'd give Pacific a call anyways, they are pretty good (as you may know) at troubleshooting things over the phone. If you do bring it into them to have it serviced this weekend I'll be oogling it.
I'd ask over on Planetnautique.com too if you haven't already. _________________ wakeboards

Chavez,
I love you man! Yep still under warranty, just hate to drag it all over the state with the fuel prices and all.

Was exactly my thought. Checked the wiring under the dash after the stereo install. Battaries fully charged, no blown fuses, etc. Somehow the brain new the RPM's were wrong because it didn't shut down on alarm.
It also blew my Ipod Have the charger/holder wired into the cig lighter. Now my baby got no tunes.
I'll give Rob a call, he knows how paranoid I am of the "keyless" ignition thing. Hopefully he won't blow me off.
Are you picking up the new SAN this weekend? Did the Carbon Fiber work out? I have to pick up some stuff from Rob this week, I'll check it out. What color combo? _________________ I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream |

It almost sounds like a freak voltage spike or something.
Yes, this Friday the boat we pick the boat up after 2.5 months of waiting. I've been trying to get Ron to take some pictures of it for me, but I doubt that will happen, I'd rather have them prepping the boat for delivery anyways. If you see her let me know how she looks. She's all white with a black secondary and black tape. The interior is black primary, black piping, titanium secondary stripe, silver cloud base. I can't wait to see her, hopefully Ron will get me some pics, the next 4 days are gonna be pretty tough.
I haven't had the CF stuff done yet, but I'm going to do it in a month or two probably, thanks for the templates, pics, and other help that you've offered me. Tis much appreciated. _________________ wakeboards

lcap, you would pretty much be my hero if you did that for me. It would definitely help the week go by faster. My email is Dragon88@gmail.com. Did you talk to anyone about your gauges yet? What's the word? _________________ wakeboards

DRAGON88,
I'll take care of the pictures tomorrow. I'll talk to Rob about the gauges and see if he has any ideas I can try before I bring it back over.
He's been trying to find a matching set of racks (wake-Air Chair) for over a year without luck. Tried some new ones over the weekend but my kids boards won't fit in them. Bindings are too close together. Had some that worked but the boards rattled beyond belief. I'll pick up another set tomorrow. Also working with him on racks that will mount in different locations on the 04 tower.

Leggester,
I so wanted one a few years ago. However my Searay dealer was and is such a freakin snob. I went in two or three times, not given a second look or the time of day. They sell from 18' runabouts to the Searay yachts. Needless to say weren't interested in selling me a more modest vehicle.
DRAGON88,
Talked to Ron today he thinks it's a defective gauge. Will replace it next time I bring the boat over in three weeks.
Anyway, man your boat is AWESOME! They are just finishing it now. Speakers, lights, pre-final checkout are complete. When I saw her they were waxing the hull and cleaning up the inside.
I'm sending you 12 pictures of her. If they don't get them let me know. _________________ I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream |

lcap, glad to hear that they are taking care of it.
I got the pics about 4 mins after you sent 'em. Talk about luck. I'm grinning like an idiot right now at school and people are starting to look at me funny. Thanks again for the pics, I put the pics up in the show your boat forum 'cause I couldn't wait. Thanks again!! _________________ wakeboards
