|
|
Hi all, I need to down size from my Pro V (nice boat) due to storage issues at our current home.
I dont want to go backwords with respect to wake and overall quality so we are seriously considering a new 210 SAN team edition. I was wondering if some of the current owners wouldn't mind posting a few pics of the wake at factory weights?
also.
How is the rear compartment storage? can you fit a 142 board in the side compartments?
Thanks in advance.
Ken

yes, you can fit a 142 Board on the starboard side v drive compartment of a SAN. The Port side will not fit a board that big. there is a pass throught on the starboard side.
You will probably get alot of agrueing on this but I promise you in a 2005 this is FACT. I leave my 144 Roam in there.

kennethl, the X-2 might also serve your needs well.
Carry on.

WOW JZ....that is impressive. I assume that you don't have wedge tanks? Even with my flat tanks, with jackets, wet/dry suits, ropes and a few other odds and ends(keep extra towels in a dry, I couldn't get a board in if I tried. Other side is also filled with crap....bumpers, ropes(dock ties), fire ex and whatever else.
Do you have a shower? Even with that stuff out, I don't know if I would even try to get my 140 in there, but good to know I could if needed I guess.....

as far as not | kennethl wrote: | | wanting to go backwords with respect to wake and overall |
you won't be disapointed with the SAN wake stock or loaded down. As with what Chavez said the X2 might work also.
Me being a 03 SAN owner I would suggest the SAN, but I am alittle bias.

E.J., I have wedge tanks. I have an 05 as well so maybe CC changed it up some to allow one side's board to pass into the battery area. I also have dual batteries.
Again EJ only one side can do it the other side is blocked with fiberglass.
no shower.
maybe your flat tanks don;t allow you to get the board low enough at the front of the storage compartment to slide forward further

Well, again....good news. I assume that if I pulled all the junk out of there I could get a board in then. I should in theory have more room with flat tanks. That may come in handy....
Then again, I am sure that all the "junk" is probably worth more than the board/bindings.........
Kenneth, there are some good pics of Gramp's wake on here and WW....

Gramps pics are hardly factory weights... If they were, that would be very impressive.

| I have wedge tanks and as long as you remove a small carpeted wall, you can fit a 142 + board on either side.

Heres Gramp's wake, I think he said that he had 350# of lead on top of the stock ballast and a few people.
If no one else can provide the goods I will be able to in a week, I'm also curious.

| I think Gramps runs a lot more then 350 lbs. of lead. I think he runs more like 1000 over the stock ballast

You're right, my bad.

SANTE: 7 Adults 1 kid = 1100lbs
Stock ballast = 820lbs
Lead bars = 740lbs
Total weight 2660lbs + full tank of gas and gear so probably around 3200lbs total, wake was FREAKING ENORMOUS......it was actually scary to charge until you got used to it. We just got the boat and weren't sure how much weight we needed so we just went for it. |

the wake of the 210 is sweet. its really poppy with the stock ballast but riding with no weight its more mellow, but still really nice. not a bad boat to go with

DRAGON88, do you know what speed and line length were used at the time of that pic? That wake is enormous

Jeff206, Probably 20-23 mph, that picture is a little "deceiving" because the rider is 5'3" maybe 85 ft off.

I've has similar amounts of weight in our SANTE. The wake will start curling at slower speeds. Wake is in great shape 80' back at around 24 mph.
4 people in cockpit, 600 across the bow, 300 in each rear locker, and a 500 in front of the rear bench, and stock. The Excalibur just begins feeling the weight.

| Bruky, so you have to go 24 mph to get rid of the lip that's in john jareds 2nd pic? is that what people are referring to when they say SAN's wakes are sensitive?

| The only time I see curling is when the boat is weighted improperly (not enough weight in the nose) The people that I ride with go anywhere from 21 mph to 24.5 mph. All I run with my hull is 400lbs of lead in the nose, the height and ease of doing any type of spin, invert or w2w is the same as a loaded X-Star (our river averages 8ft deep) I put it this way, after you ride behind either a X-Star, X-2, SANTE, a few times, all the wakes become really NICE, It seems you miss each one after a few days on another.

DRAGON88, OMG, that’s a big wake. Definitely over kill for our skill level but it’s good to know it can get insane if you want to weight it down.
John Jared, Thanks for posting the pics, they definitely help. It’s kind of hard to tell what’s going on with the shape with the spray coming off the board. I think the best pic that is of the X2 just in terms of being able to clearly see a defined shape.
E.J., that’s an awesome shot. I really like how the photographer caught you right between the two mountains. That lake water looks like mountain run off, & looks very cold.
chavez, Thanks for the suggestion and on the surface they do look somewhat comparable. I’d rather not see the thread turn into another ugly boat war so I'd like to avoid a direct comparison in this thread.

| Jeff, no there is no lip at 20-21mph. We often drive 18-19mph for skating and the wakes are on both sides clean. Only at that speed not at 85feet, but which boat is?!

kennethl, don't want to compare, just wanted to point out an option for you.
Anyhoo - either boat is sick and will serve your needs very very well. If it were up to me I would find the dealership with the best level of service and use that as a tool in my decision.

I know I've posted since, but the one and only thing that bugs me about chavez is that he is so anti-Correct Craft. I HIGHLY doubt if this was a "205V/X-2" thread, he would have mentioned "Also look into the SANTE".
Why-O-Why do you do that? It drives me nuts!
