Expanding foam... Just go to Walmart or your hardware store and get a few can's of that expanding foam (STUFF IT). Slide the can inside the PVC, and shoot it with a pellet gun. The can will explode so be careful. However it will explode and fill the entire PVC up with foam. Good luck. |

Just make sure you leave atleast one end open! Otherwise you'll have a bomb on your hands. But yes, it's very cool and gets the adrenaline going.
When shooting!
Eye protection / Gloves / Helmet / and whatever else you can find to protect yourself.

Yea, It was in a older wakeboard mag. I think if you cut them down to fit they would work. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |

If your slider has a good frame then you shouldnt need foam. A solid frame will take care of most flex. As for PWT sliders they might have foam for safety(shatering) and durability issues involving transport. As far as 4x4's you must be using some big ass pvc. Remember simple is usualy beter when building most things. If you can (obviously) use the synthetic decking material. It slides fast and wont warp. Heavy and expensive but its what the pros use. _________________ When I start the engine I want people to think the world is coming to an end.

It seemed to be a good idea to use 2 by 4's inside the pvc and fit them in place with expanding foam.. that way we would be sure that the 4 inch side would allways stay in a vertical possition supporting the pvc without making the slider heavier.. so we just filled the holes that were made all alongside of the pvc and are used to tighten the screws that keep both pvc's and wood base together.. I think i made a bomb.. and not just one but about 14
any ideas on how to DEFUSE my slider without getting killed by it?? what would you think could happen if i drilled small holes on the sides? could it explode? |

I would probably plan on emptying the cans so they are only half full when you stick them in there, that way there is less force when they let loose. You would have to drill a ton of small holes to make it even worth it if you went that route. The foam will expand so fast, it would look right past the holes and keep going.
Smaller cans or emptying the cans so they are half full would be my suggestion.
