I have an older caravelle boat with a 120 horse mercruiser I/O. I am wanting it to plane faster than what it does now. The adds for these things say they work great, but I wanted to get some info from other people who are not trying to sell products and give the the truth. Does this apparatus work and worth the money, or should I not even bother with it? Any info is good and please respond if you can help.

It works good and well worth the money. Do a search on here to find out more about them. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em...
I've never used on on an I/O but I have put two of them on outboards and they work great. There was a noticeable decrease in planing time and maybe one or two mph top end.
The other thing that you might try is to demo some different props. It can take a day or more to fine tune what pitch and diameter fits you perfect but once you find it you'll be happy you spent the time.
