i couldnt get a ride to my local skate shop today to get grip tape for my new board so i came up with a new idea (not really new i know kampus does it) I got this like coarse sand stuff from the hardware store and mixed it with elmers wood glue and painted it on with a brush. It is dry now and REALLY grippy. I know what you are thinking its gonna hurt to fall on it.... its not any rougher than grip tape. Tell me if you guys have done this and how it works

Great idea except Elmer's wood glue is water based so I don't think it will hold out to well in the water.Paint or epoxy would be a better plan.

so when it starts showing signs of wear, how do you plan on replacing it? do you plan on sanding it off or what?
