I have found that when i do inverted tricks i tend to close my eyes. I find that i have to force myself to keep them open to spot my landings, its really wierd but it seems almost instant as soon as i go upside down. Does anyone else have this problem....

I use to when i was learning backrolls, but after you throw a few more you will either:

A. Close your eyes and catch and edge and eat it every time.
B. Keep your eyes open, spot the landing, and ride away.

Your choice Laughing I went with A for a while haha.

Just practice keeping your eyes open.

With my backrolls and tantrums I have always closed my eyes (or just forgotten what i see) when i hit the wake. I can do them fine and really big but its a really bad habit to get into because now with my R2R I really have to force myself to look otherwise without spotting the shore you eat it every time.

I've done the eyeball scrape.....
I keep my eyes so open I will see the water hitting me in the face if I crash..

How can you tell if you are short and need to suck up the legs if you can't see?
How can you ride away if you can't spot the landing?
How can you react like a cat if you have no clue where you are in the air?

Spend some time on a tramp, keeping eyes open all the time!

Get really wasted so your reaction time slows down and you wont close your eyes till you land

for you guys that close your eyes, how comfortable are you doing flips on like a trampoline or diving board? I would think if you are comfortable with these it would help you not be scared and do the nervous reaction thing of closing your eyes.

Have a friend sit at the back of the boat, and once you go inverted have him yell, "LOOK NAKED GIRLS!!!" that should help you open your eyes.

colefooter, Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

My problem was having my eyes closed... I actually stuck my 4th BR try after a friend in the boat started laughing and told me to open my eyes. From then On I conciously had to have my eyes open. Now I'm working on my tantrums, and I have to start opening my eyes again...I think part of it is the scaryness of a new trick. On the otherhand, I also tried my first raley yesterday...it was scary but I did keep my eyes open, I remember seeing the water up until I crashed, then to avoid the eyeball scrape, I closed my eyes as hard as I could... Laughing
