|
|
I started wakeboarding last summer behind a 15yr old deckboat (buccaneer). My dad bought a new boat this year, it's a 24ft deckboat with a catamaran hull and seems to throw a decent wake, but it doesn't have a pylon or tower, just the tow eye in the back.
How much of a difference in wakeboarding does it make to have a heightened line off of a pylon or tower? I think we could make a pylon for the boat, but I wouldn't want to go through the cost and trouble if it won't help an extreme ammount, plus I'd have to convience him to let me do it. _________________ -Crucial |

it will definatly give you some boost all it really does is get the rope higher in the air because when you use just the eyelet and jump higher than where the rope is attached it is then pulling you down so in that stance it helps a lot plus it makes for more rrom in the boat _________________ Cadillac Crew Productions

| It doesn't make that much of a difference until you start trying inverts and such. If you aren't at that point yet you really don't have to have a tower just work on 180's and switch stuff but when you start flippin you are going to want a tower. |

Thanks for the input, I'm definately not going to be doing any flips any time soon. That is unless something goes horribly wrong, lol _________________ -Crucial |

but at the same time, if you work stylish floaty grabs, a pylon will definatley help. it holds you in the air longer and doesnt pull you back down. _________________ "floats like a butterfly, stings like when i pee" |

| I also reckon a tower/pylon helps to ride for longer, cause it makes getting up so much easier on the body... |

Well I'm not really sure how getting up could get any easier, generally after a fall the boat has the rope back to me in about 20sec and I'm up within a few seconds after that. _________________ -Crucial |

It sure is Heber Springs, AR. I'm in Little Rock for the next month, then for Memorial weekend through the rest of summer I'll be working at Eden Isle Marina in Heber. You're in Hot Springs right? I actually know someone in Hot Springs Village so I mgiht be up there some, we should definately hook up and go boardin'. _________________ -Crucial |

| it makes getting up easier because it pulls you up a bit instead of just through the water, but a pylon/tower won't help you go bigger much at all until you've got proper technique down |

| Yeah I'm from Little Rock. We have a lake house in Hot Springs and I live there during the summer. I ride occasionally on Heber. My buddy has a brand new '05 X-star up on Heber so I try to go up there as much as I can. |
