That is exactly where that kind of bike needs to be. It it ain't a Harley, then it ain't worth having.

Let's see, we've had plenty of boat wars on these boards, maybe it's time for a motorcycle war...

Why? they're all 4-strokes aren't they? i thought those were legal everywhere. i have a friend that works at a powersports shop in florida and he said he thought only honda exclusive dealers could sell them. i've heard they're supposed to be pretty badass.

hey bigairnut, you want a bike war, you got one.
what exactly is the PURPOSE of a harley? im truly confused.
i can see why people like crotch rockets... speed and handleing
i can see why people like dirt bikes... offroad capabilities
i can see why people like touring bikes... long distance comfort
but what the hell do harleys have going for them, they are loud, uncomfortable (most, not all), and arent all that great looking, and arent all that fast either. i could corner better with my 250 kawasaki with knobbies!
nothing personal, but if your going to claim that harleys are the only bike to own, im going to tear em apart.

How about an American made legend?Small @#$^%? Small brain for buying jap crap.Nostalgia ,chrome, loud ass HP,and the rumbling that makes YOU and everyone else turn their head.Jump on your foreign death ride and beat it, your "fast and furious" wanna be's are waiting.Support the U.S.A. We are not talking about radios or electronics here, so don't bother asking me if i own foreign items, because i do.When it comes to vehicles, USA all the way.

Rollinphat

I guess we should have finished the japs off when we had the chance, huh ?

Are you a total Nazi or what ?

Oh - I just checked your profile - your hobby is laying pipe and you like 3' tall women with no teeth and a flat head. I think that pretty much explains your comments to the rest of us.

Ride on dude.

American Legend? Are you referring to Indians? ( the bike, not the people )

I think Jesse James has better bikes than Harley's. Harleys are mostly for upper income business men now.

hmm... harley roaring down the road, sounds like "p-ot-ato, p-ot-ato, p-ot-ato". I support American, but for the same reason Land Rovers are known to always have $hit go wrong with them I would never buy a harley. They drip more oil and have more issues than anything. I would rather spend the $$$ on a custom, a rice rocket, or something that has value and RELIABILITY.

I dont think Jesse James makes a bike cheaper than $60,000. His bikes are for the highest income business men. Also i could be wrong but i dont think Jesse James has made a softtail bike yet. I would much rather ride a harley over a long distance than a Jesse James bike. Don't get me wrong though. I would take a Jesse James bike any day.

I like pretty much all bikes. If i had all the bikes i wanted i would probably have an Arlen Ness custom, a Jesse James custom, a H-D super glide sport, a honda cbr 600RR, and a honda cr 450f.

Your "drip more oil" remark leads me to believe you haven't paid much attention since the AMF days.

If I had the jack, I'd go with a bike from West Coast Choppers, or a Bourget. Rice rockets lack style and class, IMO. But, I don't have 35K to blow, so....

WCC and Bourget owners are the epitome of the term "RUB" though.

Harley has NEVER been known, nor will it be known for building a reliable bike. It also occurs to me the first thing someone does when they get a harley is change anything and everything they can. New fender, wheels, tank, handle bars, apint, etc. That leads me to belive the harley it self is not classy nor stlyish. It's the parts that everyone else makes for the harley, the vision that everyone else has that makes it look good.

Myself, I would be more than happy with a Road King Classic. I choose not to purchase one due to having a 6 year old son that needs his father around.

I am too old for the sport bikes.

West Coast Choppers are out of my income bracket and that is taking for granted that they would choose to build me a bike, which is no given. They do make some amazing looking bikes though........

E.J.

B-Rad.... I have 4 close friends with Harleys, 1 Fatboy, 1 Springer softtail & 2 Haritage softtails.... Not one of them have had a problem, nor do they bleed.

As far as compensating....Offdapegs, next time you see someone driving a Harley, go ask the guy if he is compensating for something.... Laughing

That's how I feel, EJ. I've always wanted a bike, but I don't like helmets and it's just a matter of time before you lay it down.

JJ turns people down? On what basis (besides lack of dough)?
