There was a post about this somewhere here or on wakeworld recently. I think the conclusion was that some put it under the boat like hidden away and it worked fine for them. Umm satellite? There is not satelitte except in the sky. Theres the antenna tha tyou'd have to place in your boat somewhere, I'd think maybe like on top of your dash or something then drill a tiny hole to run the wire to your radio. Then all you need is the player holder thing for yoru boat and then switch the headunit back and forth, but this is only if your xm in your truck has a "headunit" that can be moved. I need more info
Like what kinda xm unit do you have in your truck? My dad has xm so I can help ya out if ya have any other questions. My dad switches his "headunit" part back and forth between his truck and school bus.

no my xm in my truck is not removable. i am planning on buying a new deck that is XM ready and then buying XM tuner or whatever it is. i was just not wanting the antenna to be an eyesore i thought about mounting it on top of my speaker box on my tower, but what if i change my tower setup, then i have to hassel with th xm.

| I ran my antenna up the storage vent so no holes had to be drilled. - works out nice. I have the Delphi removable. Don't understand why people would want to pay for XM year round unless you ride year round.

You pay cause you listen to it in your car...or you have a computer at home and listen to it over the net. I think Delphi's new Myphi is the way to go. It runs on batteries, it has a built in antenna, and I believe it has a built in FM modulator as well as the fact that you can plug the headphones out into you AUX in on a headunit and have the same thing with less cost than an XM ready deck. I would like to get one but already have the roady.

| I have sirius on my fishing boat. It has a little 3 inch wide and 1 inch thick disc on the the t-top. No big deal probably smaller than a FM/AM antenna.

I recently added XM to my X-Star (built-in, not portable). I also have it in my Yukon and love it...Once you have it, you don't listen to anything else. Adding a second unit is like $7/month so it's a no-brainer.
On the install, I put a small (approx 1" x 1" x 0.5") magnetic satellite antenna on the top of my tower (just in front of the tow/light). I had to silicone the antenna to the aluminum of course. Wire is run through tower with speaker wires. It's awesome. Very clean.
Next project is to connect my new MP3 player into the system (which includes wired remote, 2 amps, 10 speakers and sub). I just ordered some sort of Sony auxillary input box that will take the input from the wired remote, XM and MP3 player. Anyone have one of these?

Ya, the extra port on the XM adapter is currently used for the wired remote. This is why I had to buy the Sony "Auxillary Input Adapter" (Sony XA-300). You can check this thing out at www.crutchfield.com ($100). This unit accepts up to 3 unputs which will now be XM, wired remote and MP3 player. Should be pretty trick...

It's a pain to run more wires through my tower, I put the antenna up under the bow light. It is only obstructed when someone is sitting on top of it, not very often. If you put it on the dash or under the dash, it cuts out when people in the bow move in front of it.
Same with the MyFi. It cuts out as you walk and turn around. They need to give you a hat with an antenna on it to make that POS work.

Ok, got a couple picks of the brains and antenna over the weekend.
The brains are mounted on the wall under the driver consol, and the antenna is located up under the windshield on the dash. Works great.

| I have sirius and the audio shop placed my antenna similar to those seen in these photos on top of the deck but under the dash, I have no problems at all. Sirius says so long as there is not a metal interference you will get the same signal... maybe XM is the same way. luckily the dash is fiberglass....good clean install and no antenna on the outside of boat or on the dash dash for the AZ sun to destroy.
