This might sound like a stupid question, but hey, I'll ask anyway. Are most boats capable of handling pylons or towers, and if so where and how do you install them? My father (who owns the boat) is not sure whether his boat can even have one installed, let alone the added stress on the frame of the boat when a boarder is being pulled. I do, but it's kind of an uneducated guess either way. Also, what's a good price for a sturdy frame? I'm not neccesarily looking for one outfitted with an awesome sound system or lights, just something that works well.

What kind of boat do you have? and what size is it? MOnster towers are the best deal i think you can prob get them around 900$ down there in the U.S.A. Check out the website.

Here's a good thread about homemade pylons. Or you can go with a tower and most towers can be mounted on your boat. You may have to beef up the fiberglass to reinforce it a little, but it's possible.

The boat I have is (unfortunately) about the farthest from a wakeboarding boat you can get. It's a fishing boat. Just kidding! It's a 21 foot Caravelle Interceptor, and it was designed as a sport/leisure boat, not as a wakeboarding one. I'm not really sure about specifics, such as fiberglass strength or thickness.

If you're looking for a tower, i would check out monster towers. They are about the most cost efficent and have the most adaptability for differnt boats. If your boat is a sport boat then it should be just fine. As long as you attach the tower to the main hull things should be great for you.

Don't put a tower or pylon on it. It will cause your boat to break in half in the middle of the lake. The best thing to do is have a person in the back holding the end of the rope. When the rider falls or is about to crash, the "holder" as we like to call them, can simply release the rope.

I own a monster tower, and it is great! We installed it ourselves, and had to reinforce the fiberglass for mounting, but it was quite easy. Highly recommended!

Here is the one I built and it works great. No issues at all. I wish I would have made it 2 feet taller. I found an alum fab in the yellow pages and for $125 was done

Monster Tower is definately the way to go. Looks great and you can upgrade to lights and sound later if you want. Doesn't have a bad price either and works on basically all boats.

I have a bud who has a monster tower, and wow its really nice. Not only does it look nice, but it is rock solid, and the accessories are really nice too. You will have to check out their website www.monstertower.com and talk to them, they have towers to fit almost every boat.

and the attached image is for you and your comment roundbaywakeboard..

AIRBOOM. I just recently installed an Airboom tower on my cobalt 246. I love it because it is powdercoated red. I was gong to get a samson sports tower but it was going to be six weeks at the best before I recieved it. Anyway I love the tower. Also it just so happens that my buddy is looking at a caravelle and it seems like they have a very small beam, well that is compared to boats like mine. You shouldn't have a problem installing a tower/pylon. Best bet, have a body shop or someone who is experienced with installation like this.
