I have a Supra SS, with 1500 lbs. of ballast. Does the wake plate help or hurt the wake shape or size?
I would think with all the ballast, the plate would just flatten out the tops of the wake.
Should I just remove it? What is it meant for?

Thats really funny Jack considering they have one of the best wakes. richard they wakeplate lets you flatten the wake when it is down and when it is up it wakes it more vert. it also help in rough water keeps you from porpusing. _________________ www.NORTHSHOREBOARDSHOP.com

Thats mainly when i use the wakeplate, is when running across the lake to find smooth water, i trim down to keep from porpousing. I always forget to trim up and the riders always remind me......where did the wake go....
Other than that, it stays up out of the way. |

Wakeplate will clean the wake up a lot if you run lots of weight. We run about 1900lbs of ballast plus people and the wake tends to wash off a little. If you putthe plate down a bit the wake cleans up nicely to about 90 feet. Wake plate really only changes the wake shape . Some people in our crew likea real lippy wake which you get with the plate up and others like a rampier wake ( plate down). Is a very convenient way to change the wake shape. _________________ "It's all good" |

our dealer told us our wakeplate was set for wakeboarding whenever we picked up the boat becuz its down and told us to help from pourposing (sp) speeds to put it up a lil...seein as how we have a manual and not hydraulic wakeplate...we just leave it where it is _________________ N.e.R. |
