|
|
Im going home for Thanksgiving and have all plans to build a C rail. My only problem is that Im stuck on how to make that curve with the side panels and decking. Ive built plenty of sliders but everything is straight. By the looks of most pics it seems like the first part is fairly straight and then it curves in one bend so the side panels might be shorter with shorter braces. Give me some help. _________________ Everything in Between is what matters the most...

that picture is so tight. that would be really cool to make a slider like that, id assume it would be pretty hard to do though. _________________

and for the curving, they cut the pieces into smaller chunks, the decking that you actually slide on is not one piece, its a combination of 10-20 smaller pieces so that it can be able to "bend". _________________ www.flukdfilms.cjb.net

they probably cut out little noches on the bottem so that the sheeting would bend better, Like when you make a pipe for skating. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |

yeah good call. I was gonna say something along that because it doesnt look like a bunch of small pieces and that would be a pain. Also that trex flexs pretty good so with some small notches you could make it curve pretty good so you would only have like 3 pieces instead of 20. Ill be home in a week to start working on it _________________ Everything in Between is what matters the most...

| those c sliders are easy to make that fibercon or trex decking on top bends easily, thost would be easy to make just creat a box and then put trex on it...if you had 10-20 peices of that on the top you would have the chance to catch an edge, thats not fun |

| Sweet pic for sure. C-rails really aren't as intimidating as I originally thought. I speak from a snowboarding perspective though. Have yet to try one on a wakeboard. Need to give that a shot. |

jabilitation, I think that hardest thing to building a C-Rail is getting the angle of the Trex so that would can stay on when the turn comes. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |

| they dont cut the top sheet into a bunch of pieces, they just bend it like you would with a halfpipe, and cut notches in the bottom |

I may be way off here, but wouldn't using pvc make building this much easier. Because you can bend the pvc by heating it slowly and bending it gradually it would seem easier. Just a thought, let me know if I'm way off or if it's comparable.

abbysdad24, It would make it alot easier to build but alot harder to slide b/c your not sliding on a flat surface that is on a angle. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |
