ok basically we got a boat similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4542422923&category=63686
but it obviously doesnt have the tower thing, we just hooked the rope onto a little spot for it (i think maybe its a tow tube hook, maybe not wakeboard?) above the part that the propeller is on and tried to wakeboard.
Complete n00bs, first time, and no one could get out of the water.
we tried for hours lol.
we started out in the water, with the lifejacket and board keeping us afloat, but we wernt sure how to get out of the water.
Should the boat start fast? slow? how do we position our feet? Should the board be below us, or infront of us when we're trying to lift out?
We tried starting out slowly then speeding up but we couldnt get more than 1/2 out fo the water before getting caught and falling forward.
We tried starting out fast, but same effect and then fell and were dragged behind the boat and had to let go
Any advice is appreciated... we spent hours with 4 people trying to do it, no one was able to do it. |

Lay in the water on your back
Point your tous outward so the the board is a 45 degree angle away from you.
Have the driver punch it for best results, You need to have some speed. If you dont weigh alot then just have him go about 15-20 mph.
The boat will pull you out slowly then once your about 1/2- 3/4 out of the water turn your board the way you wanna ride. Left foot foward is regular, right foot foward is goofy.
Hope this helps somewhat.
After you learn it will become alot easier. _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

| make sure you arms are relaxed in front of you, and keep your butt really close to the board until your out of the water, then stand up.. It'll become second nature soon, trust me. |

hmm so basically my board is parallel with the back of the boat, and so i have the driver punch it, once I start going and am somewhat standing up, I should turn the board to where it is basically aiming the right way? What I mean is kind of bisecting the back of the boat.
So really, it isnt that hard to do it, once you know how? I cant believe we couldnt get up lol.
Also, the fact that our boat doesnt have a tower or anything shouldnt make too much of a difference, correct?
also how long do you think its best for the line to be?
thanks

Hey csmaster,
Don't worry about not being able to get up your first time out. Last year was the first year for my brother and I and we spent a few hours out in the water and couldn't make it up. The second time out about half way through I made it up and couldn't believe how exciting it was. After that first time getting up my brother and I haven't failed to make it up since so once you have the basics down its easy.
If I could recommend something it would be this video: http://www.totalvid.com/Wake-Videos/Higher-Education-Volume-1/ its 3.99 for a rental for 3 days but it Parks and some other wakeboards show you how to get up out of the water. I think this instructional video really helped my brother and I. |

| Yea, the first time i learned these guys were trying to teach me the wrong way so i never got up. They tried to make me have my handle at my chest (not relaxed trying to keep the handle just in, i cant believe how stupid they were!) and so whenever i did that ofcourse my feet would fly out in front of me and i never got up.. But then i took lessons and they taught me how, once you learn how you dont even think about it... You just do it, trust me it gets really easy! Its pretty much just as easy and brainless (once you know how, and get it) as if you were sitting in a chair and then standing up! Just remember to keep your butt to the board until you are out of the water and keep your arms relaxed. Oh yea and to answer your question, to have the board point the right direction you can eather start with your arms around your left knee (if your regular) and that will automatically pull you up in the right direction OR you can start just with your handle in front of you and that will pull you up with the board the way you drew it, then you just pull the handle down low to your left hip (if your regular footed) and that will automatically make your board point the right way. Once your up remember to keep the handle down low at your hip, this will give you the control, and keep you more balanced. Hope this made sense and helped. |

yeah just wrap your arms around your knees hold the handel let the boat pull you do not pull the boat and don't stand up till your out of the water. We don't have a tower or extended pylon and i can do everything fine..we will be getting a extended pylon in a few weeks tho |
