who calls it a leash?

i was reading an article about Shawn Murrays Pro Wakeboarder or....Wake Unleashed. and they were saying how it was like tony hawk except it was on water and blah blah blah. but then they were saying "one feature of this game is letting go of the leash and then grapping back on whenever you want"-or something along those lines, but they called the rope a leash what is up with that?

They are video game reviewers, not wakeboarders (or skiers... or kneeboarders etc). Obviously they also don't have the common sense to call it a 'rope', (let alone handle). Just another case of misinformed or poorly educated writing.

A leash is something my wife has me on. I definately call it a rope (or handle) depending on what we are talking about.

No thats definitely still a gay name. I think this game will go unnoticed by a large chunk of the market that WOULD buy it without question, simply b/c it won't carry the brand name awareness of the THPS, SPPS, KSPS, DMPBMX, series of Neversoft games. I hope it does well, and I will pick it up regardless, but it is a shame that the online wakeboarding world was directly asked about the new name and they responded with about 98% saying that name is a BAAD idea, yet they still pushed it through.
