| not a problem. I will try to get the plans posted by the end of the week, i got some more work to do on it. I got the HD polypropelyne from a local GE Plastics dealer in Charlotte. My friends dad is the regional manager so i got a 20% discount, but it was still expensive |

| you definately need thicker plastic, and i'm not sure if glueing it is a good idea, countersinking screws i guess but its gotta be a lot thicker, - i know someone said this up higher but from what they use on snowboard boxes its like 1/4" or 3/8" UHMW stuff |

| i know this will seem off but the red long braces are treated 2x6's and the green short braces are all 2x8 (they were free and not as long as the 2x6's) that are spaced 16" on center. and to liquid*force*rider if you could tell me how much that stuff is or a website i would really appreciate it. the stuff on there now is working so far but i don't see it lasting, i woulda gotten thicker but im poor. |

don't quote me on this - but has anyone tried indoor outdoor carpet? (you know that green plastic stuff thats like really short fake grass at homedepot). you might be able to find white which would look pretty chill, then u could staple gun that on cheap, itd be cheap as hell so itd be worth a try. i've never seen anyone use it for wakeboarding but we have it on some drop in boxes for snowboarding, and it works, i'm not sure about something like that - i'd try just like the last 10 feet first, and if that works good then do the whole thing.
i was thinking about an idea of indoor/outdoor carpet over like 1/2" super stiff foam padding and put it on a kicker instead of just plain wood, and you MIGHT be able to edge on it - again i know u can do it snowboarding but i dunno about wakeboarding. but that would open up a whole new set of kicker/box tricks.
can someone tell me what the 'wakeboarding' name for the wide part is, snowboarding the rail would be a 'box' and the wide part a 'press box' or 'butter box'' just to clarify, i don't think the carpet would work on a regular flat rail cuz its tough to stay in a straight line on it - but for wide flat areas it should work.
my only question is if it slides as smooth as plastic - i doubt it, i know when we snowboard on it we might be slowing down but its about the same as snow - if you slow down on it too much wakeboarding your gonna get pulled head over board from the boat toppling you, so if you try it and it doesn't work, don't look at me.
now i really wish i could build a slider to try this out but i wakeboard in the ocean - our water depth where we ride is 50-150 feet deep and a floating slider is impossible - i don't have a dock i have a mooring. |

| you can get thicker plastic for the top...i know its really expensive, but the thicker it is, the heavier it will be, thus letting less water in....also, try caulking the edges (caulk is the stuff that is used between tiles and on countertops.). Its dries kinda rubbery, and holds things in place, and is 100% waterproof if time is spent correctly. It comes in big tubes, and that should solve all your problems rite there. another idea is just to layer the thing in screws all around the outsides. we have a snowboard box for the summertime, and it always warps like that, and even more sometimes, but it doesnt effect anything, its not really a huge deal. |

Ctipping, I really don't know. I would think Home Depot or Home Hardware would have it in sheets. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |
