| Is a 142cm board too big for a guy 5'8", 150 pounds? |

tbonewailer, no, but given your specs I would be shopping in the sub-140 range.

| No, it is only slighty too large for you. Not big enough to cause a problem, though. |

I am 5' 10...155lbs. I ride 138, have tried 140, 141. If anything, for myself i'd maybe get a 140. But feel the 138 rides well for me. If I'm driving a car, from point A to point B that gets 23 mpg,and point A and point B are 3942 miles. How many joints will be smoked between points A and B? _________________ The horror...... the horror. |

None. You would clearly save your stash untill where you got to where you wanted to be and then chill out with your buddies and go riding while the sun sets. _________________

Hi all,
I was trying to understand what a few extra cm in board length makes. I was looking at buying a board and can't decide between 139 3DS and 143 3DS. I'm about 6'1 and 220lbs and I know the 143 is more for the big rider, but I've been riding a 144 board for a few seasons and always feel it's too big - so thats why I wanted smaller board. I had a go on a 136 and found it much more responsive and easy to spin on the surface, but did drag a little bit on the toeside cut for some reason (could be my size 12 feet as well!!)
Sorry to ask the same question, but how much difference does board size really make in your opinions?
Cheers guys,
H |

I am 5'8", 175 lbs (lately, damn I'm huge), and I ride a 137 or 138 (back and forth between a Byerly and Substance). Up until I gained the last 30 lbs., I rode a 132 just because I liked a smaller board. So, some of length is personal preference. What is not personal preference is the fact that a slightly bigger board usually lands softer and is usually more stable on landings, while shorter boards (with the exception of the LF Fish) land harder and can slip out easier.
hyper-rider, if you are 6'1" and 220, if would put you on at least the 139 3DS. You might be a little big for that, but it might be okay, because that line is a little bigger than it seems.

| I'm 5'10 165lbs and I ride a 141 Substance for the soft landings, and the extra 5cm of length doesn't add a niceable amount of swing weight. |
