Could someone please explain to me the deal with blem boards. I saw a board posted cheap on a board site but it said "blem". What exactly does that mean, and is buying it cheap worth the risk that it might not ride well.
Thanks |

| 'blem' often means that there are cosmetic imperfections on the board or BLEMishes, these do not affect the performance of the board. these range from a wrinkled graphic to a scratch on the board from moving it around the store room. these boards are usually a great deal. |

make sure you get a cosmetic blem, or second. . . anything worse than cosmetic affects the performance _________________ TEAM PIRATE, AAAARRRGGGHHH YOU READY?

I have bought two blems the first board I could not find it. The second the color was a little lighter than the original. I recomend them if they are cosmetic then again I could care less about the graphics. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em... |

As mentioned above, make sure the blem is cosmetic. More often than not, they will be. The bad apples of the blems are dings from transport/movement at the warehouse. If you can, ask if the edges are still clean. When the blem is a ding from the factory, sometimes they patch the edge that was chipped, which can later cause the board to separate or delaminate.
Overall though, it's a safe bet. Just call ahead if you can. Best of luck. |

Huh? I've never heard of a "blem" described as a board with the wrong graphics. "Blem" is short for "blemish," which means there was a mistake in the manufacturing process that resulted in a cosmetic flaw. That could include applying the wrong graphics to a particular shape board, but that's not the definition of a blem. If the mistake is NOT cosmetic, then it does not meet the definition of a blem and should not be identified as such. |

Buddybud, Inspect in carefully, every blem I have ever seen were all under $200, $270 seems a bit steep. However, I was at HL when I was shopping. _________________
