1.) Here is an idea for anyone with a boat dock and their lake doesnt allow permanent sliders...make a rail on your dock! like bolt a skate rail on or something. Just thought of that. I think it would work too

2.) I have a big woodzy 1 acre lot that we dont use for anything but mtn biking/ dirtbikin. If I dug a trench 3 feet wide X 1.5 feet deep, would it hold water? I was thinkin of just diggin it out, putting a small rail along side of it, get pulled by a (dirt)biker and hit it. The soil is silt/mud if that helps. (western virginia soil) If it wouldnt hold water, what could I use to line it for cheap?

3.) For the idea above, could you hit a rail like those factor X 10 foot skateboard rails they sell? They are a lot like permanent sliders but they have bases on the supports so you dont have to dig holes in the ground. I was thinking of digging out small holes just wide enough for the supports so it is more stable but I could still pull it out. Do you think this will work? If you really dont know what Im talking about, ill make a paint pic and post it.

Thanks in advance.

I have never done one before but if your open to suggestions heres one. dig a hole, like you said 1.5 feet down and test it to see how long it will hold water. if it dosn't hold water to well, they sell 2,4,6,8, and 10 mil (thickness) plastic foundation liner at lowes hardware or home depot. It comes rolled in all kinds of dimensions, like 5ftx100ft or some stuff. Lay that down and brace the perimeter of the trench with 2x4's or 2x6's or 2x8's or 2x10's (whatever they hell you feel like) so that the liner stays in place as well as act as a small retaining wall for the earth. Plus it will look professional and badass(atleast the way i have it envisioned in my head it does). Again I have never done it before but thats how I would do it. It probably wouldn't have to be that deep though, maybe just a foot or so.

Yea thanks, didnt think of the retaining wall. Im not sure if I would need one because the water pressure would push outwards. I would have to see.

About how much is the liner?

well I went to this puddle today with my friend and his dirtbike and a boogie board. The water was about 6 inches deep. The puddle is about 8 feet wide and 30 feet long. I wanted to get pulled by the dirtbike but we didnt have rope so we just ran and jumped and went as far as we could until we stopped. I will bring a rope and slider there sometime. It should be a blast. I only discovered a few problems about the ditch idea....

1.) It attracts misquitos. You would have to drain it somehow. Any ideas?
2.) Little tadpoles or something live in it. They look like mini stingrays, like 1/2 inch long. I dont know if they are dangerous to your health but they look creepy. Once again, if you drained it I would assume they would be gone.

It will be really sweet once I dig it out to be bigger. Ill try and get pics too.
