I have one of those Factor X Rails that raises up and down and i was just wondering if you could build a rail like that that rose up and down a few feet instead of a few inches because the water on the lake rises and falls or for experience levels.

I would work good. Get a 2 1/2 inch steel pipe and a 2 3/4 steel pipe and pound the 2 3/4 pipe into the ground with holes driled in them and just put a bolt in the level you want it to be at.

2 1/2 pipe inside the 2 3/4.

Make sure and use stainless hardware for the bolts otherwise they will rust fast and make it a pain to adjust the height.
