|
|
I notice when I ride that I get pain in my back leg after about 20-30 mins on the water. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to aleviate the pain? or get rid of it completely? Or is this just a wakeboard growing pain that I will eventually get used to???
Thanks in Advanced _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

Try to describe the pain more... is it a dull pain, a sharp pain, does it feel like a cramp or do you have a pulled muscle? Then let us know what where specifically the pain is. You said you it was in your back leg. Is it your lower leg (calf region), upper leg (hamsting or quads) or is it in your groin? Depending on what part of you leg is bothering you it could even be your lower back causing the problem. Let us know and we'll try to help more.
Without knowing this type of info it will be hard for anyone to help you. But something I suspect that we are all guilty of is that we don't stretch properly before we ride. Make sure that your hamstrings, quads, calfs, groin and lower back are loose before you ride and you won't get hurt as often and it will be much more fun. |

I bet if you adjust your bindings it will fix that problem _________________ "The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."

alot of people ride fairly tail heavy also it could help (dont know if you do this or not) but to distribute the weight fairly even on both legs _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

jonsmith2340, the pain is in my quad, hamstring region. It feels like a sore muscle after a workout. That is the best description i think. I am guilty of not streching, maybe that will help.
ckligor, I have my bindings ducked out evenly so that I ride switch the same why. I had them favored once to riding regular. I still feel the same pain, i dont thinks its the binding adjustment.
shaggyboarder, as for your input I guess that might be a problem. I do ride a little tail heavy just to make sure the nose doesn't dip. If i do that then i do my favorite trick, by accident, the facepalnt. _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

| Once you get used to distributing your weight evenly the faceplants will stop. I used to get cramps in my back leg till I learned how to ride with my weight even. |

Ya actually I just got back from Keystone and Breckinridge, Colrado yesterday. I know what you mean. I'd rather ride steep blue runs than mellow greens. Thats when I catch an edge and eat it. I have no problem turning on blues. Anyways thats besides the point.
I guess I'll try to ride more even and get used to that so I don't get that pain in my leg.

| I used to heve the same problem. It is caused by leaning back to far, like somebody already said. Also it could be because your binding are set too wide. What holes do you have them set at? My problem was bindings set to wide so I would check that first. |

for me this happens the first couple of weeks into the season when my legs aren't in good wakeboarding shape, but eventually it goes away for me..........I also saw this article in wakeboarding mag that says that stretching can really help keep your muscles from getting sore _________________ <img></img> |

I get it really bad in my back legs' hip. Especially when I ride alot, and I always stretch.....I'll have to try evening out my stance and balance a bit.
Good info, thanks. _________________ The horror...... the horror. |

Strengthen your legs, and stretch after every workout and before you go to bed every night.
