What does everyone use when they're towing their boats to prevent rock chips?

I tow the boat down a gravel road a couple of times year (about 3miles) and I've never had a problem with rocks hitting the boat because I don't go very fast.

The trailer is another story though. It gets really beat up. I've seen some things that hang down off the bumper and something that fits on the trailer as well. Anyone know where to find them or what they're called?

Any pics of them? How well do they actually work?

They are supposed to be pretty awesome. I have seen them too. Ask your dealer, they should be able to hook you up. They are pretty pricey to have a good custom fit.... I just avoid gravel at any expense...
Let us know what you find..

They make things that attach to your vehicle which usually have like tons of nylon string stuff that hangs down but I suppose with some pieces of rubber and a welder and steel you coulda fab something up that like quickly attaches to your hitch and is like a truck width rubber gaurd

Rheyzar, Thanks

I've seen the Rosswell ones before. I'm also looking for something that hangs off the back bumper as well maybe?

Looking at the Rosswell and the other one, it looks like they protect the hull of the boat but not the beams or the underside of the trailer? That's what seems to take the most abuse. I'll contact those two and see if they can adjust the height of the tarp to go lower maybe?

Any other suggestions would be great as well.

Thanks

That's what I was thinking of NAW.

How well does that work? Any experience with those? I don't know how easy they are to take off as I don't want to drive around town all the time with it on there.

I'll check around here.

Thanks

Bambamski,

I picked one up for around $180 that slips over the reciever at a local RV store. They are simple to slip on and off. They are ugly but it's better than the rock chips! http://www.off-road.com/chevy/projects/yukon/roadwing/

This is what I use. It works great and doesn't look that hideous! I have a lifted truck with 37" tires and it completely protects.
