hmmmm interresting.........ok..I will think about it..

my first choice was to buy a o'brien player 138 (daniel watkins)

but my local board shop just keep Hyperlite.... Crying or Very sad

so forget...obrien and liquid force... gator board.....jobe...blindside....

he just sell hyperlite... so.. do you have suggestions on a ''worse'' board??

just one question: why do you hate the parks?? (board)

If your local shop only stocks HL then a better choice of board (if you still want 3 stage rocker) would be the Era (previously the premier). It's a way mellower board but will let you get used to the 3 stage.

badger45 It's not that people necessarily hate the parks, it's that the Parks is a very aggressive board meant for aggressive, experienced riders that can handle it. With the list of tricks you posted you don't fit in this category.

i have a 2001 o'brien answer and its not a newb board.... so if i can handle this board i can and i will buy this board... (i dont care about the kind of rocker)..

badger45, nobody is saying you can't buy a parks there just saying its a very aggressive board. It will kick a lot of peoples ass that aren't at the skill level to be able to perfom well on this board.

If this dosen't make sense i'm sorry

badger45, I don't know if you should get a Parks, just because he is the "best" wakeboarder doesn't mean his board is the right board for you to make your self progress in the sport.

badger45, I would give the 3DS(newTFD) a try, I had rodemy dads Parks DNA for a while (got Rack Jacked), and it was a nice board, but it is soo agressive it affects how you do your tricks if you arent pretty experienced, the 3DS(new TFD) still has the great carving/in the water and also has alot of POP, but is a more predictable and controlable board

Someone better tell Harf, Murray, and Ruck they are riding 'newb' boards! QUICK! Rolling Eyes Laughing

Bottom line is, there is really only one person who can really get the most out of the Parks board, and that person is Parks.

Have you rode the byerly yet? I have one, but you definitley have to demo before you buy, because theres people out there that love it and hate it. I think that it was the right choice for after demoing...

I have the '04 parks 138, I have been wakeboading one season. I grew up skateboarding with sponsorships, and slalom ski every summer. I stretch before riding always.....but regardless the Parks board kicks my ass. I have to cut harder for a good start at wake, but when i hit wake it is explosive. If you're under 30 and your body can take the hard landings...cool, I'm 29 and borderline here!
After only boarding for about 1 month I am attempting and landing wake to wake 360's .....just not with rope in hand on landing yet (grrrrrr). I feel the rocker gives me alot of free airtime when I pop but the landings are sometimes painful because of the height I get. I am 5' 10' , only weigh 155 lbs., and seem to launch too easily off wake. Don't get me wrong it's fun as stuff and I'm better than the 2 guys I met who have been riding for 2 years, but experience comes to play with having alot of skateboard experience.
If I had to do it over I would probably get a board with an less aggressive rocker and worked my way up to a Parks. But seeing the Parks board (the sick graphics and board design), and all the Parks videos online..... I just gave into good promotion of a board/rider. Although it is not all promotion, it is a sick board you just need to be able to handle it.
Anyway, I hope the board you get turns out to be the one for you.

I've owned and ridden several boards over the years (including the parks), but I stopped changing it up when I got my premier. By far the best board i've ever ridden. The edges hold well and the cuts feel smooth, it has amazing pop, and the softest landing of any board i've ridden. If you progress to where you'd like the board to feel a little looser, you can remove the center fins and the board still rides great with just the molded fins. I have taught riders of all levels on the premier line, and can't ever remember having a complaint. I like it so much, that I keep getting new ones. On my third now (broke 2 of them), and I wouldnt have it any other way.

Bottom line, newbies will be comfortable on most boards, because they all behave pretty similarly when you're getting started. You often end up shaping your riding to the way the board rides, and if you dont have alot of experience under your belt, you probably wont experience difficulty adapting to most boards on the market. there's really not much difference in 'newb' boards and advanced models, as the 'newb' boards tend to be pro models from previous years.

The one exception to the above paragraph where i've referenced 'all' or 'most' boards, is the parks. It really is not a good board for beginner riders. More likely than not, you will feel like you cannot predict how the board will react in the cut and releasing off the wake, making both -riding a soothing set and riding an aggressive set where you're trying to pick up new jonk- very frustrating. It's hard to relax and hard to improve when you dont understand why the board is reacting as it is. To say bottom line again..........BOTTOM LINE, the parks is probably the worst choice for you at this point. you will more than likely be happy on any board you get that's the right size for you. and that comment about the rocker - whether you care about the rocker now or not, you sure will when you get the board.

good luck, and dont think so much, just dooo it.

that der b my suggestions.

Yeah I would definitely check out the premier. If not that, then the era, 3DS, or murray.
