I threw out all my pogs. I wasted so much cash on that crap. Those things were probably the most worthless stuff ever.

Jello John,
You sit in a car thats 150 degress for 4 hrs at close to 200 mph and see how well you can stand up to it. And on top of that most of the racecar drivers can outlift, outrun, and outhrow most of us. Exclamation

Here's to my #1 drivers #8 and #24
Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon

plus car racing is awesome espically at the local dirt tracks. My friend won the powerpuff race. She is awesome. Cool

favorite sport besides wakeboarding is basketball. only other sport in a tropical climate where you can fly. Ive been working on trying to dunk. im 6'5" 180 lbs. working out for bbal has helped my wakeboarding and vice versa. my legs are alot stronger from wakeboarding so i can jump all day. im trying out for my college team next season so wish me luck.

NIce BoardC3... I knew an East Coaster would step up for lacrosse! Both my roomies went to Ithaca and one was an All American attackman (the other played baseball). Ithaca is ranked #6 right now (I think) and has a stud Texan at defense - Tim Reilly, 3rd team AA as a soph last year.

Track and Field.

i don't care what anyone says, sitting in a car for 4 hours that may be 150 degrees does not take athleticism. holding on to the steering wheel may get challenging at times,(sarcasm) but so does holding on to the bars of a mountainbike... and those guys have to actuall work. peddling your legs and peddling your accelerator can't be compared

the guys in the race cars experience 4 g's in every corner. that means if a driver weighs 200 lbs he has 800 lbs pushing against his whole body inside and out in every corner. go get in your car, turn the heater all the way up, put on a helmet, and drive as fast and as hard as you can for 3 hours and tell me how you did. then think if you're car accelerated, braked, and turned at least 4 times harder and you had to not only keep your car on the edge of it's limits but inches from other cars doing the same thing. that takes althleticism. if you ever race motocross or pretty much any motorsport you will have a new found respect for those guys. or just go to your local go-cart trach and try to drive one of this little rink-a-dink things for 3 hours as hard as you can. until then you can just keep your mouth shut on the matter or keep letting others know how ignorant you are.

btw- funny sig

i'm not trying to offend you wes, just stating what I've experienced... as much as I like to check out a sweet NASCAR race on Sundays, I crack up every time someone mentions athleticism. it's just not there. it's not at all related to motorcross either. those guys are moving around, not planted in a seat w/ a safety harness completely isolated from moving muscles below the shoulder.

I do agree that the conditions under which they drive are more extreme than a commute to work and back, but seriously, athletic? not gonna buy it.

Agreed with Frank'n'beans and everyone else that says racing is not athletic. Sure it's challengeing, but so is playing video games, learning to memorize the dictionary, cooking, and bowling. And the comment about most racers being able to out lift, out run, and out throw most of us... come on. Take just any pro basketball, football, baseball, soccer, hockey, track and field or swimer and match them against a nascar guy. I think there would be a clear cut difference. I'll stick to hockey and soccer, football to watch.

i guess it all depends on your deffinition of an athlete. mine would be someone who participates in a sport that takes talent, physical strength, and endurance. i think pretty much any professional racer has talent and endurance (not including drag racing) and i dont think you will find a fat professional nascar, cart, irl, score, or any other type of endurance racer. you shouldnt have to look too hard to find a fat pro baseball or football player though.

Yea Motocross is deffinitly hardcore. Arm pump is so hard to deal with. Plus going up and down , through the whoops and around hairpin corners for a qualifying , semis and then the final which is 40 minutes , it gets really tiring.

Frankn beans -i agree with you on the mountain biking. I raced mountain bikes for about 4 months and it is very tiring , and i have tons of injuries from it.

Race Car drivers are built. I completley agree w/everything that wes said espically about the part that u will never find a fat race car driveer but u sure can find them in other sports. If u were to actually walk up to one of the nascar drivers for example u will feel small if you aren't built yourself.. most of them aren't to tall but they are stout.

I drove a sprint car once, and I was suprised by how tired i got. it was like bench pressing something in every corner, and the corners kept coming and coming.
it really is a lot more physical than you would think...and I was on your side until then.

........if you say motocross isn't physical then you are whacked out.
