| The new MB boats seem like they are really moving forward in the industry, offering a higher performance boat at a more reasonable price than CC, Malibu, or MC. The new wake boat offers 2500 stock ballast with a 2 speed transmission to save fuel and get the boat on plane fast. This seems like a revelutionary jump in boat technology. I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience information on the boats. They seem like quality boats a decent prices, the consumer's dream. Any info would be great. |

justsomeguy, Good call. I have an MB and I am getting sick of the open ended threads about them or any other brand. A little searching will get you a lot of good info. _________________ Hot Women, Phat Boats, and Sweet Rides make the world go round! |

Hi, I'm new to boating. Why does MB need to put 2,500 pounds of ballast in their boats, and does the 2 speed compensate for the very high amount of weight? How come Super Air Nautiques and X-Stars both use less than 1,200 pounds of ballast and still have similarly sized wakes?
Thanks! _________________ www.dentalplans.com |

Is that how you figured out that it still worked, it pointed to your ass?
Folks that have a clue and can figure out how to use the simple search feature on this site, and others, can find a great deal of onformation about MB boats.
This info can answer many questions and help them make their buying decision.
Or, if they are clueless and/or lazy, they can just post questions and hope that people spoon feed them the answers.
Are you advocating supporting lazy people because you're lazy as well? OR are you simply clueless? |

| C'mon!!! This thread is taking up valuable space. We should be saving this space for topics such as "What color SANTE should I get" or "How many speakers can I cram onto my tower" But then again, maybe some new information might turn up about MB Sports. |

I think its funny when people whine when someone asks a question that has alreay been asked. If it really bothers you that much then why do you waste your time with a reply? If you really can see 3 of the same topics on the same age then you know for sure that you dont want to answer the question. Do everyone a favor and just dont even click on the link. _________________ 2003 Mastercraft Xstar w/ the 6.0 Cadillac |

Bruky, ya bring it to my house cuz I'm doing my boat up with some sweet ones, im even going to stencil some tribal on it so i look way cooler, and that outta scream 2,500 lbs and a 2-speed.
DRAGON88, mature for a guy who doesn't even know I helped my parents pick out which boat to buy. I might aswell be the owner, I just didn't pay for it, but I know why we bought it compared to the other boats. _________________

OMG REALLY?! THATS AMAZING!!! I also helped my family pick out a boat!! OMG DOES THAT MEAN LIKE OMG I TOTALLY OWN MINE TOO?! I'm sorry, but no, you are not "as well" the owner because I highly doubt you pay for insurance, gas, maintenance, or the boat payment, and seeing as those are pretty much the traits for "boat ownership" and you don't seem to qualify to any of them... Thats like saying "guys I totally own a Ferrari because I helped my uncle pick out the colors!!" So what? Who are you to rag on another boat? The 2 speed transmission is something that no one else is putting in wake-boats. So you, being the "boat owner" you are feel the need to bash someone else's tastes in boats... More or less bashing on some form of "progression". Why? Not that you have even given a valid reason for not liking MB just that you don't like the graphics... Well guess what?! NOBODY CARES IF YOU LIKE IT!! Don't try and bash on someone else's setup when you don't even have one. Please... give me a break! "OH NOES THE GRASPICS ARENT TYTE ENUGH!!!" Guess what... You can order the gelcoat in pretty much any color and don't have to do tribal flames if it isn't your taste. Actually I would go as far as to say that you have more choices gelcoat wise with MB then you do with Correct Craft... "OH NOES THE BALLAST HOLDS MORE WEIGHT THEN MY SAN!! IT MUST BE EVIL!! LETS STONE IT!!!!" So whats your point with ballast? Shock, boats throw different wakes? I had no idea, what is this crazy science called hydrodynamics? All boats react too ballast differently, My guess is that the fact that the boats have so much ballast the USCGA makes them dump tons of foam into the hulls to make the boats neutrally buoyant with 1800 (what ever the capacity is on the MB's) of static weight.... Is the balast over hyped? Probably, is it any worse then anyone else's ballast system, no not really...
Don't like MB's, Supras, Sangers, Master Crafts, or Malibus? Fine, but don't make the rest of the "Nautique owners" look like a bunch of snobby jerks. Please your boat is just as good as about any other. People have different wants/ needs for boats, the SAN is not the end all of all wakeboard boats, its not gods gift to mankind. Realize this now and loose the elitist attitude... _________________ wakeboards

DRAGON88, CC isn't the end of all wakeboats. Our next boat is going to be an X-Series in not-too-long. Why am I so anti-2,500lbs? Because it's a total design flaw. MB sells boats using this to their advantage, however. MB's aren't 1,500 pounds better than every other brand out there, they're just 1,500 pounds behind in hull layout.
Trying my hardest to stay on good terms with ya! |

A 2005 B52 weighs 3,700 pounds. It uses a Triple up system that adds an additional 2,100 pounds.
A Super Air 210 Team weighs 3,350 including tower. Its wedge tank system uses approx 900 pounds.
The Super Air undoubtedly creates a taller wake.
The combined weight of the larger X-Star and it's ballast is still less than that of the MB.
Any unpreferenced hillbilly will tell you the wake on a Star is larger than the wake on a B-52.
Now, to cover my ass, I do prefer pretty much any wake over the 52. Do I mind the shape? No. It's just plain soft and washy. |

| Bruky, I'm sure there are a lot of people that would disagree with you. Its been said time after time on thread after thread. If you're in the market, go out and try them all. My guess is that if people take the time to try out the new B52 V23, they too will disagree. It is a very impressive boat. |

Who said it wasn't an impressive boat? I simply said the design of the hull sucks. There are plenty of people that will buy a wakeboat that are not very advanced wakeboarders. MB makes solid built boat. Their quality seems to be great, and they even handle alright, but their hull design needs work. The wakes they produce are not up to par.
In the last few years, I've noticed vast improvement in wake shape. As of now, the shape isn't too shabby. I wouldn't mind riding it, if it weren't so incredibly soft and washy. It must be the boat when there is a driver and spotter in the boat, stock ballast, at 22mph and whitewater at your heels at 75 feet. |
