making videos shorter....

do i need a special program to make my videos on my ocmputer shorter, or to edit them, i need to make there file sizes smaller, but i dont have a program to do that, do i need one, or is there a way to do it with the video viewer thing? i dont know much about this kind of stuff so i need some help, thanx if you can hlep me out

How did you get your videos on your computer? If you took them from your video camera using a program then chances are you can edit them in that. You do need a video-editing software though.

i took them with a digital camera, and put them on my computer with this thing i put the card in, but i looked on that program thing, i cant edit them , its just used to put them on the computer, so since i cant do it in that, i have to get a video editing program? i guess ill look into that then, thanx

Yea sounds like you need to get some software. Look for Adobe Premier, that's probably the best bet for your money. Or you can just download it off kazaa (just be careful for viruses). If you download it try to get the latest version (not sure what that is). When you install it you will be asked for a serial number. Find out what version of the program you have, then you can search for serial number generators (programs that will give you the serial # for your software) for Premier and you should be all set!

ok well i did some looking on my computer, to check to see if i do have a program on there that i dont know about, and guess what, i do, i think it game with my scanner or something, so now i think i can shortin them, and add text and stuff, thanx for the help
