|
|
I just woke up, turned on the TV, and the news is talking about U.S soldiers captured by Iraqi troops. The news station keeps saying there is footage of the captured soldiers (most of whom have been shot) that they will show once they get a hold of it. Apparently they interview the few soldiers who are still alive, while showing the other bloody soldiers in the background.
Let me ask this. Who the HELL videotapes POWs and airs it on the local news? This just totally pisses me off. As I said, I haven't seen the footage, but I'm not sure I want to. That's total disrespect for the soldiers and their families. Personally, if I had a brother captured over there I wouldn't want to see him dead or about to be killed. I don't know if the news stations here will put the tape on air, but they sound like they are going to. I don't really agree with that though.
I'm not totally filled in on the situation, but from what I know I totally back the U.S right now. I watch these damn protests on TV and little kids are saying "I don't want people in Iraq to die. There's no point of it." Why the hell don't people understand that Saddam has killed thousands of his own people???? And it's not like the US is bombing whatever the hell they can hit. They are taking out specific building. Obviously there will be some casualties, but welcome to war. Bush is doing this for Iraq's own damn good, and people can't understand that.
Ok, I totally just lost my train of thought, so I'll shut up now. Last week I was against war, but now I totally support it. I have more to say, but it wouldn't be appropriate (or at least it would not be looked highly on). |

Maestro ~ Go back to sleep for awhile. Don't listen to the news,TV/Radio.
Take a shower and take a few deep breathes and then come back with your thoughts.
Your writing is much more coherent later in the day and evening from my observations |

They won't show it or well shouldn't as doing so would break the Genava convention, but iraq's screwed so why should it care if they break it ? _________________ Jess

You think Saddam cares about the Geneva convention. If news comes that he is treating our troops poorly wait for all hell to break loose. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |
