Atlanta, GA – Monster Tower, Inc. has received official notice from the United States Patent and Trademark Office that all 24 of their utility patent claims have been approved.

Monster Tower was launched in April 2003 providing the first universal tower that incorporated the popular “swoop” design that was previously only found in expensive, custom made wakeboard towers. The ability of their affordable tower to fit any boat, fold flat for storage, fit under factory boat covers and easy installation made it an instant hit. It has become the most popular universal wakeboard tower in the market and almost 500 customers have submitted installation photos and rave reviews that have been posted to their website.

The company has continued their innovation with quick release wakeboard & waterski racks, mirrors, speakers and light bars, as well as their Tower Bimini developed in partnership with Great Lakes Boat Top. Chief Executive Monster, Bill Bierbower, says, “The approval of our patent further validates the incredible market reception to our towers and accessories that have brought so many firsts to a market filled with great products.”

Monster Tower provides wakeboard towers that fit any boat and tower accessories that fit any tower. For additional information or to register to win a free wakeboard tower or other prizes visit www.MonsterTower.com or call 877-77-Tower.

Thanks more than I can express for the great comments and support. For those that know my love of spending money on legal fees . . . well trust it was really hard to swallow doing a patent. About the time I was thinking about doing one, a patent lawyer that a buddy of used for his fishing lure patent left his big, expensive firm to go it alone (www.witherskeys.com). He was naturally far less than the big firm and made it a pretty easy process. He did a great job and is a great guy, even for a lawyer, except he does not wakeboard Smile

It's been an awesome ride so far and a true blessing to be able to make a living at something we love doing. Thanks again and the business, support and feedback from the market have each been a huge part it.

MonsterTower, First off congrats... your empire is only starting, before you konw it you will be getting royalty checks in the mail...

For a curious mind though...

So, how did Monster get around the correct craft patent (or do you send a royalty check)?

What is different about Monster towers design?

What were all the different patents? 24 sounds like a lot for a tower

ahh, and the painful photo sessions... Very Happy sounds like a rough ride you have been on

Im guessing that, when the rider is cutting, the stress on the tower you get creaks from the joints, and the actual metal. everything is so tight its silent?

Im probably way off, someone correct me.

I'm pretty sure It means that the tower doesn't rattle. Most wakeboard towers rattle alot over double-ups and some In chop, but I guess It's saying that a Monster Tower is silent as in It doesn't rattle as much.

*ding* ding*ding we have a winner, monster is the quietest tower I have ever been around. Value wise the best and from what I understand pretty easy to set up yourself. And like some said already the BEST costumer service out there. No body deserves your money more.

The lure he patented is at www.vibrastrikelures.com and it creates vibration like a cell phone does to attract fish. Great idea and it worked great but fisherman have been sold gimicky stuff for so long it never sold well.

There are design and utility patents. Simplified, the design is how it looks and the utility is now it funcitions, & the stuff you did others had not done before. We did one of each type, but the 24 claims of our utility patent is what was approved.

We are licenced with Correct Craft and pay a royalty, bout all I can say.

When I looked at towers three + years ago they were most rattle traps. So silent is just in reference to not having any "floating joints" (I can see it coming), more boring stuff, but we made sure the tower could not make noise when installed correctly. Our joints are fixed Laughing

Empire - Ah that sounds nice! We just added the fourth full employee for the busy season so lookout MicroSoft, here we come!

jumalian, CC has a design patent. MT has a utility patent as described above. 2 different animals.

Also, I think I agree with vawakemonster, but I am still trying to make out what he just said. Neutral

vawakemonster, seriously, can you type that over again in a way that we all can comprehend? btw, it's plastered all over this thread...it's monster towers.

steel the idea? who did they steel it from? wasn't cc the first to come out w/ a tower specifically for wakeboarding?

i'm not really siding w/ anyone...just for argument's sakes.

jumalian, CC added a tow point to a fishing tower design. Over the years the design has morphed, but the initial idea came from a fishing tower.

You can look up patents here NAW: www.uspto.gov. I ran a search for Monster Towers, Inc. (as assignee a/k/a the owner of the patent), and for Bill (as inventor), but nothing came up. It may be too early, or getting "24 claims approved" may be just one positive step toward getting a patent fully granted with a number.

Simply, were proud of what we did so far, and the patent office agrees that we added at least some innovation to wakeboard towers, so did Boss, Skylon and a bunch of other people always trying to build a better mousetrap for wakeboarders. The opportunity is there for everyone. We did a press release on some great news we got, hoping for some cheap advertising, that’s about it.

Correct Craft (CC) has a utility patent for towing a rider behind an elevated structure on a boat, and virtually all tower builders for new and aftermarket towers are licensed through CC for tower sales in the domestic US only. It’s a valid US patent and has been well proven in courtroom battles that would burry most tower companies. There are many other US and international patents or pending ones on wakeboard towers and accessories that this does not apply to, or they add onto it with new innovations. CC is like any other American corporation; their intellectual property is part of their business model.

Best news for all of us - there are lot of really smart people on this planet that are working hard for fellow wakeboarders bringing new ideas to the market and many are protecting their innovations and ideas with patents. And some are stooping low enough to try to get some marketing exposure out of it.

Snead – bring it on, but take your vitamins and it’s BYOB
