Soldiers guard the suspect in the grenade attack on Camp Pennsylvania.
CAMP PENNSYLVANIA, Kuwait (CNN) -- A soldier wounded in a grenade attack at a 101st Airborne Division base in Kuwait has died, U.S. Central Command said.
Another soldier attached to the 101st has been detained and is being questioned in connection with the incident early Sunday at one of the division's camps in northern Kuwait, V Corps spokesman Max Blumenfeld said.
The attack at Camp Pennsylvania, where soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division are stationed, wounded 12 people -- at least five of them seriously -- U.S. military officials said.
Financial Times correspondent Charles Clover -- who is embedded with the unit -- said he was told by Col. Ben Hodges, a commander of the 1st Brigade, that the soldier lobbed three grenades into the three tents housing commanding officers from the tactical operations center. At least two of the grenades exploded, Hodges told Clover. |

| under u.s. law there has to be 2 or more witnesses or an open court confession to be tried for treason. if he was under my command he might accidentally dissapear somehow. |

Interesting Wes ~ since this didn't occur on US soil. More has been printed about Sgt Asan Akbar. Reports are that this appears to be premeditated and that he had an "attitude" about this war.
Something to be said about trust here, then you have betrayal. I don't think he should be brought back into this country for his trial and he can still see his family .
It's callous but Capt Christopher Scott Seifert won't able to see his family anymore either  |

I could be wrong since i have not researched the matter very thoroughly but Amendment 14 section 1 of the U.S. contitution reads as follows, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
Unless there are exceptions in times of war he deserves the right to a fair trial as a citizen of the U.S. Personally, I wouldn't be offended if he didnt get his fair trial though. |

He's in the military though so he won't be given a public trial. This will be handled in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice as Lakebu stated. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

| I skimmed over the Uniform Code of Military Justice and learned 2 things. That thing is f*cking long and it looks like the President pretty much gets to decide the soldiers fate. |
