o/b vs jet drive

wich would give off a better wake, the same boat with a jet drive or o/b. i think the wakes migth be the same but i like the jet drive cuz i get a swim platform and a sundeck. anyone have an opinion on wich would be a beter wakeboard boat(i know neither will be as ideal as an inboard)

The jet wake is going to be real washy... The outboard would be the better wakeboard boat.

Jets usually lack pulling power, so you probly woulnt be able to use much ballast.

I wakeboarded behind a deck boat with a jet (I think it was a Islandia or something like that) and directly behind the boat was very washed out. I really like my outboard and both the Ski Ray by SeaRay and PowerStar by MasterCraft are as good as you will get with an outboard Ski Boat if you need an open bow.

There is a big difference with additional weight which has been more people in the past but I'm working on getting some sacks before the summer is here. One nice thing about an outboard is you have a lot of control over the trim of the boat and that gives a lot of control over the size and shape of the wake even without sacks.

Not having a rear platform is a major bummer. We put the board on in the boat and then do a "diver down" move off the side of the boat.
