i know my history but to me its not something to joke about, srry but thats just the way i feel, were over there fighting and ur siting here making fun of france because they ont wanna enter the war, we dident want to enter the WWII until we got bombed so there is no difference theres allready enough hate going on, srry its just not funny to me

He is not being a hypocrite, he is just being funny. He isn't preaching France-hating, hes just joking around on a forum.

I am sure we will keep good ties with the French for when we need a restock of truffles and cheap wine. And Canada too, eventually we will need some more wood. (see that was a joke)

The Anti-French sentiment is fairly common. Much like the Anti-American sentiment I feel from some of you. The French are the first to contradict thier Allies and the first to call for help.

Historicaly speaking... The United States was not a member of the League of Nation created after WW1. It was not our responsibility to enforce the Treaty of Versailles. The French had more than enough ability to control the early advances of the German/Nazi Army. In fact had the French decided to move when the Nazis were in the Rhineland Hitlers Army would have been devastated. SO HISTORICALY SPEAKING THE FRENCH APPEASEMENT CAUSED THEIR OWN FALL. IT WAS NOT THE USA's FAULT. We did not choose to treat Germany the way the French did and we do not ignore violations of Treaties. This is why we are enforcing a UN treaty in Iraq now. The FRENCH have a history of ignoring treaties and as seen in WW2 ignoring treaties can let things get out of control.

I met a person in a chat room yesterday that asked if I was American and they said they were French. And they said that this is the beginning of the end for America. I don't know what in the world made them think that.

Mandi- Just realize that the world economy is dependent on the American economy. Anything that causes trouble here causes more trouble else where. So if America is going down the rest of the world will take a harder fall.

The fact that France offered Saddam asylum and the fact that they supply Iraq with some of their weapons is 2 good reasons to take them out as well, I sure wont miss them.

I don't think France offered safe haven to Saddam. I do know they sold Iraq a nuclear reactor and other banned technologies through companies in China. There is also a report today that Russia has done similar things. No wonder they opposed war so much. If the members of the UN don't hold up the treaties then our actions are even more justified than I previously believed. Our strongest opponents in the UN about this issue happen to be enablers to Saddam's regime.

Wakesk8tor calm down dude its okay. No need for tears, its just a message board. France opposed this war but are already wanting to cash in on it. Hypocrite is the word you keep using, I think it fits well with whom you are defending.
