im gonna say yeah cause if we had a good enough reason to send them there in the first place and a good enough reason to send people back after the challenger we should still have a good reason to keep sending them. im not sure what the reasons are but with the amount of time and money that's been put into the space program why should we stop now?

Definately yes... people who fly the shuttles know that there's a risk... but the benefits far out weigh those risks.
Less people have died exploring space than have died on airplanes, but we all still fly on them.

they said they're gonna send some back up this fall. i think that if they stop the international space station will just float there, useless, and do nothing b/c who's gonna take them up there? _________________ "stupidity will kill you!"

I would like to see why somebody would say no!!!!! Nobody really had a problem with it till the recent events. I guess it's normal for people to question it after the event.

i've been saying for years that they need to start building a new shuttle... even if we do send people back into space, i think that NASA should build a new shuttle because these are slowly falling apart. otherwise, the space program won't be going anywhere...

i wonder if their aim screws up more than yours aubs? jk.
i think they keep using the stuff they do because it's already been tested and it gets the job done. going to new stuff would cost way too much and would still only get the job done. |

the space shuttle uses crappy computers? is this a fact or opinion? i went to Moffett Air Field in Mountain View, Cali when it was operated by NASA and everything looked new and up to date. I personally think that the last people to use "crappy" equipment would be NASA. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

i've heard rumors that NASA hasnt updated their computers since the 80s. not surewhether it is true or not but i wouldnt call their equipment crappy. they've been useing the same shuttles since the 80s and the computers worked fine with the shuttles then so why should the update their computers.

actually wake i think the space program helps the economy. pretty much as long as money is changing hands inside the u.s. it's helping our economy. NASA contracts out a lot of its work to companies like lockheed martin, boeing and other aerospace companies. NASA also employees 1,000s of people.

i used to think the same thing wake but i have not done enough research to form a strong opinion either way so i'll just have to agree with whatever the government decides.
