O.K. I've searched the forums and found some useful info about the Subjekt. I am thinking about buying the '04 model and wanted to see if anybody my size was riding on that board last season. I am 5'8" #155. I got about half a season in last year. My W2W are good as well as 180's heal and toe side. I was on Hyperlite's entry level board (liquid?) in a 137 without the fins. I am just looking for a board that is going to help me get to next level. The only other board I rode on was a Bylerly in a 142 that I really liked as well. I don't really have the chance to demo. Just looking for some advice. Thanx

What questions about the board do you have? What advice are you looking for?

To begin with I want to make sure the size is O.K. I know the board is going to have more pop, ect. Also, is it a board that is too advanced for me? I don't want to be the gaper with the board that is way better than I am. I read some post comparing the subjekt to the substance and it described the subjekt as being a little bit more "rough" on landings, ect.
I guess some other advice would be for other boards that I should be looking at too (I don't want this to turn into a brand war) I really don't have any preference, just looking for a board that will help me get better.

gotama176, you'll want a smaller size, possibly a 137, but I'm exactly the same size as you and ride a Subjekt 132 and a Substance 141, the Subjekt has super explosive pop on it and throws you further into the flats with slightly harchser landings than the substance. The substance is a more relaxed, mellower feeling board with softer landings and a stright up kick wake-to-wake. I would recommend the Subjekt if you are a kind of person who just likes to boot tricks and land em however possible, the substance if you like flowing super smuooth and just floatin in the air.....pm me if you need more info

My cousin was in the same situation as you, except he was a little smaller size, he wanted to also advance and he had some old obrien board that hewould ride around on and he could do w2w 180's and such, he also rode my byerly and liked it.. But he ended up buying a 2003 Premier, which he loves now and has been working for him because he has progressed a lot. So maybe you might want to look at a 2004 premier.

gotama176, I'd get the balance, or substance if I were in your situation, the Subjekt sounds a little too advanced for you. it will BUCK you. and I'd say a 141 is too big for you.

Thanx for the info kidz. I will be riding behind a I/O with a pylon that is weighted (at least #500 to #750 not counting peeps) so I want to make sure I get a board that will pop out of my wake. I am assuming the wake isn't as solid as a "wakeboard" boats wake. I am hoping to make a purchase soon, and then stand in my bathtub with the shower on and practice the "pop, pull, pass" Mr. Green

gotama176, once again the 141 will be too big for you. I'm 5'8 155 and I ride a 135 now, but getting ready to go up to a 138. The substance will give you good pop without bucking you, I recommend that board.

i was looking at the same board, (subjekt 137) but i was wondering what is the difference between a 3 stage and a continuous. i currently have a continuous. i want more pop off the wake though, and heard that 3 stage gave that. is there any other differences between the 3 stage and continuous than what i mentioned?

beasoldierprstn, Continous gives a smooth, predictable pop into the flats, while 3-stage feels like a kick in the pants straight up and out of control. I like both
