My girl is fixing to get a new (still on the dealers lot) 2000 Moomba Outback. There going to add the factory tower for $1000, so they told her $23K +TTL, does that sound about right? Whats the do's and dont's to this boat? Positive and Negative? Any feedback would be great!
-Also next question, how are you guys weighting them? Any pics of the wake? Post any pics that you may have please.

Ryan

That price sounds a little steep. I would think more around $19k-$20k. It might be alright since its a new boat though. I got a new 'O1 Mobius for $21k. The manual with the boat should instruct you with the do's and dont's. It will be a good wakeboard and slalom wake, depending on weight and speed. wakeboard wake won't be huge though. I'm weighting my mobius (same layout as the outback) with a 700 lb sack in the rear trunk, factory ballast, and a 375 tube sack in the front ski locker. I don't have any pics of my wake right now but believe me, its nice.

Only if you are going to keep it for a long time. It will depriciate (sp) a whole heck of a bunch the instant you sign the papers. The blue book value will be on a 2000 outback. And if you try to sell it you will be selling a 2000 Outback. Look at this site. it's NADA value

Yeah that sounds high to me, I got a 2001 last year that was left on the lot and it was right around 20 w/ no tower. I did get the boat show incentives though so it had stereo, cover and bimini. I think the tower is usually around 1500 installed. Just a thought also are you talking about the Outback LS or the regular Outback?
As for weighting I have 4 phat buddies from Skylon they are about 300-350 # each, I put one on either side of the engine, 1 in the trunk and 1 in the bow.

that's a total rip, the MSRP for a 2003 is 25 something. I'd say 20 is about right...

I have a 2002 moomba outback with tower, wakeboard racks, and i installed a stereo system! Its a awesome boat. It has 79 hours on it(one full season)and i have had no problems at all. With 4 or 5 people and two fat sacs the wake is very good. I would recommend a Moomba to anyone who doesnt see the need to spend 35+k on a recreational vehicle that is not used on a day to day basis. Good luck!

My cousin just bought a 2003 Outback with alot of the options but no tower for 23K. The hull was apparently redesigned for 03. Not sure who it will be for wakeboarding, but it's supposed to be a helluva slalom wake. He bought it for barefooting-----I can't explain him!
