Most people, on this site, ride on lakes, true. It depends on where in the sea you ride, is it shielded? Also, for right now, equiptment is not an issue, if you learn to jump on whatever board you have now, you'll be fine. Also, what kind of boat are you riding behind? What you want to do, is approach your wakeand litterally straighten your legs and body (but only when you hit the wake), ride it like a ramp, don't try to jump, it will pop you up. Then start hitting it faster and faster. You can't be afraid. The more we find out about where you ride, what kind of boat, and the whatnot the more we can help. Don't go out and buy new stuff until you start improving.

| With the boat you have you might want to try wakeskating, its alot better than boarding w/ a small wake. It will also be fun just trying to learn to ride. |

| noneya, has a good point, w/ a wake like that, it would be more fun to wakeskate...but, you can still work on olying and 180's, even 360's without a big wake... |

| Coop, Its like wakeboarding without the bindings, or skateboarding behind a boat (w/ no trucks/wheels) You can wear shoes for it. You can do numerous tricks, most of which can be done on a skateboard. There is a wakeskating forum/thread on this site too. Skating isn't my specialty, but I play around with it. You can pick up a board for about 100 bucks, or you can find some used ones for cheaper. Good luck. |

Look at it this way, if you start skating you could go up to em and get a job teaching!!
Really its not too hard, if you can get up boarding you can do it. Go for it!! |
