ok here is the deal... in my area i can't demo and i'm not really interested in online demo'ing. i'm the kinda person that buys one board and uses it.
i'm 155 lbs and about 5'9" money is not an issue, i can buy the most expensive board and not be happy as far as i know. i want a board that will break loose easy but still hold fast when tracking. any help will be greatly appreciated |

allright that helps a little, but what does it mean by smooth and abrupt, or relaxed natural and agressive,
with smooth and abrupt. i guess abrupt is more pop which equals a harder jump?
and with riding style agressive being Sticking to the water better? |

| abrupt vs smooth. That deals w/ the rocker. If you like a smooth pop you want a continuous rocker, if you want an abrupt (bucking) pop you want an abrupt 3-stage rocker. Relaxed natural vs. aggressive you're style. Agressive means that you are well...for lack of a better word, an aggressive rider. Relaxed natural means that you just let it flow. |

| Abrupt pop means it will pop you higher, and more wake to wake - versus smooth - which is not quite as high but further into the flats. And yes, the more aggressive a board is the quicker it will initiate turns and will grip a lot tighter. |

trmpt63529, With a bigger board you will have softer landings but with a smaller board you will have more control. It's all up to you. Personally, I would go with the 138, but I just prefer bigger boards. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

I am the same size as you, and an intermediate rider.
I just got the 2005 Murray 138.1 DNA (HYPERLITE), and I love it. _________________ dude your gettin a hyperlite |

| trmpt63529, I'm w/ David, except I'd look at a 135 through 138. 142 would be too big, in my opinion |

I agree with the 138 instead of the 142. Both boards will work but I personally ride the 38 better. I am 6 foot and 180 lbs.
A bigger board makes for softer laning and more board to correct your mistakes. I think it was Murray that said "The bigger the board the better, I like a lot of board under me" or something like that. |
