Digital Camera..Looking to buy..need some advice

I'm looking to purchase a digital camera. I'll use it for all ocassions. However it needs to be able to shoot good action shots and possible some short video.

What are the key factors to look at? Pixels, mem,...help!

Get one with an adjustable shutter speed, fast recharge/refresh rate, good optical zoom. Also, consider battery life, mine usually lasts for 100-150 pics. Not that good in my opinion.

A 10x optical zoom is really nice (and hard to find on cheap cameras) for shooting wakeboard action shots. A 3 megapixel camera will give you great results. If you can afford a 4 or 5 megapixel and plan to print 8x10's then get go that route. For web stuff 3 is plenty.
